It has to be asked because it's definitely possible

The playoffs are different animal.
Loser go home.

What if: Dak is confused and lost in a game? Ie. Vs Giants.

1. Will Garrett put Romo in?
a.) After halftime?
b.) Sometime in 3rd quarter?
c.) In the 4th quarter?

This is not a slight or dig on either QB? It's not. I HAVE OFTEN SAID... I DONT CARE OF "MADEA" QB's US TO SB WIN. I JUST WANT #6.

Im talking in-game, real game playoff game.

What do we do?
d.) leave Dak in and let him learn for next year?
e.) let Romo "save" a game and then let Dak start next one?

As Broaddus has said a couple of times, you have to be selfish if you're Garrett now.... you can't care about hurt emotions or feelings, you have to make the best decision to win the game.

Hell, yeah, Tony's going in if Garrett thinks it necessary.

What has to happen for him to think it necessary? That's the moving target.

That should always be the approach not just now.

All hands on deck.

I think Romo comes in if both these things are true:
(1) We trail by 2 scores at or after halftime, and
(2a) The offense hasn't scored a TD or (2b) Dak has turned it over twice.

Well as I keep having to remind people, Joe Montana in his prime was benched in a playoff game for poor play, mainly because a guy who would go on to win six passing titles and 2 MVPs was on the bench. It was not a permanent move (Joe would go on to help the 49ers collect two more Super Bowl wins) nor was it a statement. They just wanted to win that game and survive for another week and Joe just didn't have it that day.

If things are for some reason looking very dire, you do whatever it takes to fix it.
It's do or die...no tomorrow...all of those playoff clichés.
I'd prefer it was just smooth sailing for Dak and the Cowboys.
Because, if for some reason Tony goes in, you know at that point we would already be getting our tails handed to....so maybe too late recover anyway.

Great anecdote.

Wonder if Garrett has Walsh's stones to do that

Only if they're being shutout I could see them giving romo the two minute drill just before the half to see if he kicks anything into gear.

In a 'one and done' scenario, if Dak is having an inexplicable meltdown, I can see them turning to Romo if they feel things are slipping away.

The opportunity for a championship supersedes everything else right now. You worry about 'next year' when next year gets here, you don't let it adversely affect today.

I'm as big of a Dak supporter as anyone and I'd have no problem with that. You play to win the Super Bowl.

It's weird if it wasn't for the human aspect of it all the best option would literally be to play both guys and see who looks best.

It's kinda clear romo is the big play guy with more pop in his arm. But dak is the safer guy who holds onto the ball and plays steady. Dak may be the best guy for this offense. And romo may be the best guy in a shootout
