It was said on ESPNRadio that ESPN approached Maverick Carter at the Cavs @ Lakers game LAST season and talked about the idea and Carter said that it would be good, but that LeBron would want charity involved.

After this, it was reported again the day prior that despite all of the rumors that it was being held in a NYC suburb because LeBron was leaning toward the Knicks, that the location and production of the entire spectacle except for whatever decision would come out of LeBron's mouth was controlled by ESPN. ESPN honored LeBron's camp's request for Jim Gray to conduct the interview, and then paid for his hotel and his plane tickets to get to Greenwich.

Saying LeBron quit during the Boston series is a joke. The Celtics defense just took it to the scrubs on the Cavs. Jamison was a non factor the whole series, West had a few good quarters here and there and Shaq played like the washed up guy he is. The truth is the Cavs had one player and there is no way one great player can carry a team to a championship by himself. Kobe gets all the credit but if it wasnt for Fisher stepping up huge in game 3 and Bynum and Gasol, the Kobe and his Lakers would of lost just like LeBron did. Unfortunately for Boston,♠♠ Kobe's surrounding cast consists of legit players.

Lebron was smart enough to recognize that the way the Cavs are currently built he had no shot in hell of winning a title, so he took LESS money to win.

I also think ESPN is more to blame for the hype and circus the decision turned into then anyone. LeBron did the show but mostly because it raised over $500,000 for charity, it was pretty obvious he felt uncomfortable with it. ESPN saw the interest and pimped it out, and quite honestly it was pretty brilliant by them as idiots like me sat and actually watched it.

Dude the Cavs were terrible. Anderson Varejao, Mo Williams, and Delonte West was the best Dan Gilbert could manage in 7 years. I don't blame LeBron for running.
