We had successful defenses historically with 4-3 standard. Its time to go back. Sad to say but we had better defenses under Campo then Last 10 years of "top flight" coaches. Last year Pasqelellellli simplified it and we played better. We have stupid players that cant comprehend that much.

No....

If we had 1 more outside rusher, you would see a different 3-4

Right now? yeah we don't have the personnel.

Just Ware, and Lee

3-4 is not a complicated defense and is as good as the 4-3 when you go out and execute. If Dallas chooses to go back to 4-3 some where down the line great I have always been a 4-3 guy but in terms of the 2 defense they come down to the same things execution and when we did play the 4-3 and failed to execute it looked just as bad as when the 3-4 is not executed

Nope........have u ever heard Al Davis famous saying "just 3-4 baby"

Nope. I don't agree.

Another consistent Pass Rush threat on the other side of Ware and this 3-4 would be vastly different.

Unfortunately we're still searching for the consistent rushing threat opposite Ware.

Maybe we should draft smarter players. The 3-4 works in the NFL. The main problem with ours is, we are not getting the right players for the system. If we can't do that for a 3-4, what makes you think we can do it for a 4-3? Past success does not guarantee future success.

Just like our OL drafting, we can't draft for defense. We hit on a couple, but miss on a ton.

It's also time to bring Roger back. We had a great team when he was the QB.

Couldn't disagree more. This team needs 3 players to help make it's 3-4 excel:

1) A consistent pass-rushing OLB opposite of Ware
2) A play making S (doesn't matter if it's SS or FS)
3) A fat boy, 315+lb. fire hydrant at NT

Spencer has proven he just is NOT what is needed at OLB in this D. Sensy is a decent FS, BUT, if he was paired with an all-around beast at SS (that can stop the run & pass equally), his game would probably go up a notch. Finally, the Ratliff at NT experiment should OFFICALLY be over. He's starting to get walked back into the LB's on a much more consistent basis. The man is still an excellent player but he needs to have someone make him understand that he could do much better at either of the DE spots (plus, it would probably let him play much longer). I want a Casey Hampton in the middle of this line.

You all are gonna see me right this quite a bit this offseason, BUT, there is one school this year that has everything we need in this draft. That school is Alabama - Upshaw @ OLB, Barron @ SS, and Chapman @ NT.

Top 5 Defenses - Yards Per Game (as of Week 14)

1 Houston - 274.9
2 Pittsburgh - 276.1
3 Baltimore - 278.1
4 Jacksonville - 302.3
5 San Francisco - 305.1

Top 5 Defenses - Point Per Game

1 San Francisco - 14.0
2 Pittsburgh - 15.2
3 Baltimore - 15.5
4 Houston - 16.0
5 Miami - 18.9

Of this group, on Jacksonville runs a 4-3. I think the 3-4 works - when you have the right players.

Can't believe how many people say this defense has never worked for us when just two years ago in 2009 we played the best defense we've played in at least a decade.

Just typical fan nonsense.

Hey, let's pretend we're just not using our talent properly rather than the players just not being good enough.

What I would like, is to have a team that gets angry, when they are not doing well. I want to see some emotion. When you have guys like Jacobs dissing the star, someone knock the crap out of him. The team :banghead: is just too passive for my taste.

It's not the scheme it's the players, they're stupid

Didn't work with Zimmer, Wade and now Ryan so i doubt these guys would be that much better in a 4-3 just cause a completely different cowboys team was years ago. These guys ain't all of a sudden going to get smarter and players like Ball ain't all of a sudden going to get better if we switch

The truth be told (which happens too seldom) either the 3-4 or 4-3 works fine as long as you have the right players to handle the physical demands of their roles, and as long as those players understand their roles and how they fit into the overall scheme.

At this point, I think it's safe to say football in general isn't for us. Rugby?

That IS a legitmate problem for this team. Where is that fire you see from the Ravans, Steelers, Jets, Patriots, Packers etc..................

OK problem is they had many years to draft or aquire guys like this and havent. So with this personnel currently run more of a 4-3.

We simply need more talent, especially at LB'er. The strength of the 3-4 is supposed to be the linebackers.
