..not to bad for a beginning benchmark for us. I had one main anticipation yesterday and that was Moore. He aced it, with even few check marks. What we wanted was an upgrade. We got one. Even though its the first game, the first impression is strong.

The offense ran so smoothly, I wondered if you could plug in any avg receiver and would it still run the same? We have brains now in our play calling. What a difference it makes.

There's still a lot to be desired. Zeke, looked rusty and out of sync. The defense gave up 17, but it looked >>>>>>really rusty>>>>> to say the least. Lets fixed that.

Still first game...no biggie. All N all, Im ready for cowboy football.

I’m more interested to see if Moore schemes and game plans to each individual teams weaknesses. Pass heavy one week, run heavy the next, mixed, more TE sets, etc. kind of like what the Patriots do, it is rarely the same. NE can beat ya with nothing but full backs and a slot receiver

this game proves that coaching makes a huge difference with a team in todays most times coaches are the difference between being really good and average

One game is right! Kinda concerned by the defense, although there are several reasons why we shouldn’t freak out yet:
1)Tank wasn’t 100%.
2)Quinn was out.
3)Byron Jones didn’t play much.
4)Giants are a desperate division rival with nothing to lose.
5)Even though NY’s not that good, they still have an above average OL, a veteran QB with 2 rings, the NFL’s best RB, and TE Engram.

Barring injury, I expect the defense to eventually dominate.

And if the Cowboys lost, the season would be over!
Yes, sad but true, just like it was at 3-5 last season and being honest, I thought it was over too.

We are not the only fanbase to overreact, the Steelers are burning terrible towels today, the Browns are already that color stain on the season and they both were supposed to fight for the division and the Ravens played outta their heads yesterday.

All we really know is the team did what it was supposed to do, spank a poor team and can go 2-0 in the division in DC next week because the Eagles served notice as well, Wentz and his WR's looked ready for the season as well. Those that were soso about Jackson's return now know, he's just as dangerous as he was when he was with PHL before.

It's not about the win, it's about winning with confidence and not waiting for the 4th QT to try and win the game. Win early, win often, and it will all be ok.

If we had lost that game, it wouldn't have been because the offense couldn't get it done!
You are being kind. The offense consists of 11 players.

However, it has been well-established on CowboysZone.com, for decades, that Dallas' offense is made up of one player. This is a fact fortified with evidence reflected by the countless posts and threads created for the Fan Zone's front page every day, week, month, year, decades (times two) about the single player. So, actually, it would not have been about the offense not getting the job done but...

Well. You know. ;)

The only comments more awesome than 'THE SEASON IS OVER! REPENT!' posts and threads are game thread posts saying the game is over early in the first quarter. :muttley:
Did the first one appear when Barkley was about halfway on his 59 yard run? I stopped coming to the fan forums years ago during the games. That MNF game in BUF was my last one. Bi-Polar Disorder ruled the forum that night.

It would not have surprised if it did. Game threads = rapid fire posting. You cannot read every game thread post (unless you have Barry Allen type super speed reading skills) but it would not surprise me if your inquiry is actually true.

We have three receivers who are all versatile enough to play inside or outside, and can run great routes. That gives Moore a lot more options to work with, and it appears he's up to the challenge of finding ways to take advantage of that.

That 4th touchdown was exactly what we all wanted to see. We didn't just run the clock out and hope the defense kept the giants from scoring, we made it dam near impossible for the giants to have any hope of affecting the outcome.

As usual, the first game was a surprise. I expected the D to be better, considering the Giants offense, and the O not to be as good, considering the Giants D and they have a good DC. Back in the day, the D's were always ahead of the O's but I am hoping this has reversed and we will see better from the D.

I also think the Giants OL is a lot better than we were anticipating, that's the best part of their team, including QB. I think they will get a good look at their backup QB, Jones, this season and they might be in the hunt for another 1st round QB...…...and GM. Not only did he make a questionable pick, he doubled down backing it up.

It's fun getting reaction in real time.

But it can get over the top. It's an emotional game and fans are fully invested. That's the way it is. Cowboys fans are not unique about this.

It was a very good first game and they need to build on it. The defense was a little loose and they need to tighten things up.

The team will get more push back from the Commanders. Their defense is much better and their pass rush is pretty good. The o-line will be challenged.

Excellent win. But not overjoyed. Should be treated as a building block.
True, I'm happy because of the changes in philosophy and personnel than anything. I have not been satisfied nor happy after some of our past season's wins that looked like accidents.
If we had somehow lost this game, I would have been happy with the offenses' progress. Would not have been happy with the defense, but as suspect as they were on some plays, they are a good unit, made adjustments, and will be better.

I don't think the win itself is what has fans excited. It's how they did it on offense. I've never seen so many pre snap moves prior to the snap of the ball and you could see how that was confusing NY. We also hit the middle of the field and deep often. This approach was alot better than the usual quick out plays we would constantly run that was predictable.

Yeah, good points. Their Oline looked pretty bad in recent seasons, so they look like they improved for sure. Jones looks like a big QB with an arm, but didn't get good draft grades. It's make or break for their GM, who has to be feeling desperate.
