It Is Very Rare For Me To Get Mad Enough To Want To Fight...pic added #33

I work for a Property Management Company right now while I am trying to buy a local business from a long time friend. I hate the banks right now. They are idiots.

My job is basically Supervision of the Maintenance crews for the various communities that the company manages.

I was on a property this afternoon to do an inspection of an apartment that was an eviction for drugs and non payment of rent. I walk in this apartment and it is unreal. Trash everywhere. Moldy bread. A measuring cup with some soured milk on the floor. Holes in the walls everywhere.

So I'm walking through this place making notes of how much my guys are going to have to do, how long before it is a rentable unit again, etc.

I walk into the bedroom and I am checking out the closet area and there is puppy poop everywhere.

I turn around to leave and this little wobbly legged puppy is behind me. They left the puppy! It looks like it's part chocolate Labrador and part shepherd.

I picked this puppy up and he was trembling. I look around. No food or water. At least the Air was still on in the apartment.

I went down to the Office and I said, "that apartment was still occupied." The manager turned around and saw the puppy and she was as mad as me.

We got the puppy some food and water. All kinds of kids came in the office to see him. Everybody was talking about what to do with him. Finally the Manager's daughter-in-law says that if no one objects she will take the puppy. She has 2 boys whose Dad just left them and their Mom to shack up with some other woman. The people that left the puppy were some of his druggie friends. Junior is 7 or 8 and Nick is 4.

So we took the puppy to see his new kids. Nick looked up at his Mom and said, "can we name him Gizmo?"

The story is going to have a happy ending but right now I want to punch the people who lived there right in the mouth.

Thank heavens I was asked to do that inspection today.

Old friend, rather than focusing on those lousy SOBs, focus on the joy of those two sad little boys and their new bestest buddy, Gizmo...

I've often felt that my last dog Bear got killed because God wanted me to find Aly, and I think that God wanted you to find Gizmo so that those little boys could have a pup to love... this is a story with a very happy ending, I think...

It really is true, the Lord works in mysterious ways...

There was recently a story in the news were this girl talked her boyfriend into skinning their dog because she wanted to make a belt out of it. It is sickening how little value some people on life.

Dear Lord, give me strength.

That little sociopath is a serial killer waiting to happen... I can only hope that they put her away for a long, long time...

I've been thinking about Bubba all afternoon since I found Gizmo.

This makes twice now that you've rescued a dog in distress...

You da man, Hos... I'm proud to call you my friend...

Animal cruelty is very disheartening. I personally also wish people would not breed animals unless they are professionals and humane (i.e. no backyard breeder or puppy mills).

Man, this thread is like an emotional roller-coaster. I don't understand why people have pets if they don't like animals!

My boyfriend hates 2 of our cats, but he knows I will give him hell if he takes their collars off and lets them out. I love them and rescued them from the "kill list" at the humane society. One of my cats was brought back to the Humane Society twice because the people didn't like her. :( Car trips are hard for her probably from being returned. She starts screaming "NOOOOOO" nonstop in the car.

Lets make this a happy thread.

Meet Gracie. My golden retriever a few days after we got her. She is almost two years now. She was probably 3-4 months in the picture. I don't have any recent pics with me at work.

Golden's are the best dogs on the planet. (sorry jack!)

I like the idea of positive stories. I've recently placed a 12 year old boy in care who has had issues with anger management and is the victim of physical abuse and neglect. His Foster Mom indciates that he is most happy when interacting with the family dog. The dog is part Golden retriever, Siberain Husky and some other undetermined mix. He's a shaggy beast with only one mission on his mind: having fun with this 12 year old. I've done several interviews with the boy and find he's most open when the dog is able to hang out with us. The only challenge I'm finding is getting a sore arm during the interview from throwing that *?"X%^ stick! Clearly the dog loves the kid unconditionally and the boy knows that he can do no wrong in the dog's eyes.

They are the best! I had one growing up. We got her from the pound in Long Island when I was 1 and we had to put her down when she was 18. She had such a long and great life.

This is Sam (Samantha). I loved her so much like a sister because I'm an only child. Sorry for the crappy quality, my dad scanned the picture after taking it out of a photo album.

That's so sad. I love those Animal Cops shows on Animal Planet, but they make me tear up all the time thinking that people would do this to these animals.

I'm all for locking these people up with no food and water and see how they like it. Screw their "rights"...

I'm not effeminite at all, but those ASPCA commercials cause me to tear up

Awesome story Hos. That's exactly how I'd hope most people would react to a situation like that. Great job Hos.

Unfortunately most people would not have the guts to do whats right no matter the personal costs.

Meet Junior (with mohawk), Nicky, and Gizmo.

A Chihuahua that size would be full grown. This is a 6 to 8 week old puppy. Going to be a decent sized dog.
