It looks like the Pre-Dak & Zeke Cowboys are back

Maybe dak is seeing increased pressure bc his abilities are limited and defenses adjusted to his weaknesses in year 2?

The O-Line hasn't helped but blaming the poor Zeke ypc on the o-line is ridiculous, the guy is facing 8-9 players in the box because defenses don't respect Dak throwing the football.
He throws it at his receivers. not to them.

That Switzer punt did us in. We just made a stop and we're getting the ball back to add to the lead and bam right back in the game. It was a huge momentum switch. The run blocking looked pretty strong as well, but Wade did something in the second half.

This is just not true. The Rams got it and scored...and then the Cowboys got the ball and went right back down the field and scored again. It didn't shift momentum at all. They just got outmatched in the 2nd half.

He throws check downs too often so the defense is more than willing to give you 5 yards on 3rd and 8. The last play of the game 4th and 10 was the perfect example of what Dak has been about this year as a passer, nothing but underneath throws.

The biggest problem for both Elliott and Prescott has been the under performance of the OL. Its always the trench players that make the stars shine more brightly...and the start of this season proves this once again.

What???!!? Lol. That was huge!

That's not much of an argument. Sure it helped the Rams get a score, but it did not shift momentum. A shift in momentum isn't followed up by the team that supposedly lost momentum driving down the field for a TD.

The entire year so far I just haven't seen the players play with that same intensity and passion they showed last year.

You look at them on the sidelines and it looks like they are all just going through the motions and would rather be somewhere else.

Dak has become a robot player, Zeke has looked overweight, Dez is playing the worst football I've ever seen him play, and our defense can't get a stop.

The only bright spot I would say this year has been Demarcus Lawrence.

Yesterday, the Cowboys thought that the game ended at halftime and that is just so unlike us.

That game yesterday I feel like I've seen it so many times with this team in the past.. Finding a way to lose and doing it at home.

Hopefully playing Green Bay will wake them up. They will be told all week how bad they are and for some reason we are a better team under these circumstances.

last year there was energy popping in the air , not this year

I have said in many theads Dak has been missing throws. You obviously don't follow any of my posts. The OL has been crap. Zeke averaging 3.6 ypc. And the recievers can't get open. You are making excuses for the recievers saying its Dak holding the ball too long. Ya, he has all the time to read the defense when there is constant pressure in his face because the OL can't block anyone.
Bingo. Dak has had is issues/mistakes like everyone else, but I'm not sure what a second year QB is supposed to do when the oline is suddenly in the toilet, we have almost zero run game, and the receivers aren't getting open. Is Witten even still on the team?

That isn't an excuse for Dak, it's just stating all that is wrong with this offense. The whole unit is a mess currently.

Lots of negatives, unfortunately. Offensive line isn't as good, and it's compounded by teams determined to not let Zeke beat them. Haven't done enough damage over the top to change that philosophy.

Then, of course, the defense. Seems like it's been an issue for most of the 21st century. It's tough to beat anyone when you give up 35.

Press man coverage with blitzing...

It's killed us time and time over the years. Even with Romo.

Yep. Our scheme depends on the receivers beating the coverage one on one, and our guys aren't getting the job done. Even when we bunch receivers to a side we don't run any clever picks or rubs so the guys get covered anyway. We run too many medium to long routes when we only need 6-7yards, and the O-line is killing Dak because they can't hold the blocks long enough. I can't count the number of times Collins got pushed back into Dak and caused him to break outside the pocket. I think we would have been better off leaving Collins at guard and putting someone else at tackle. We didn't call quick slants and had very few screen plays (did we have any???) to keep the defense honest. Zeke looked very slow, but what do you expect when you have a 3-man welcoming committee waiting in the hole you were promised you could run through? It appears Leary may have been better than advertised and we need to quit getting too cute being fiscally responsible. Oh well..we may have a long season if the O-line doesn't start to gel...

In name only. Which is why I gave you the Witten example from yesterday. Dak..if arm chair fans like us see the regression in Dak's play thus far this year what do you think his teammates see, Dez has never been a leader of this team --loud voice--yes but takes way to many plays off to be a leader and his teammates see this--Zeke--no one is going to follow him with his off field issues. Lee is hurt to much and players want someone consistently on the field providing leadership. We just disagree on this front but still enjoy your takes.

I think your standard for a leader is way too high. There might be 2 leaders in the league by your criteria.

I was really hoping that last year was going to become the new norm but eventually our culture just takes the football out of the player and just turns them soft and easily distracted..

They can't even make it through an entire game without zoning out.
