I tend to always agree with your perspective for some reason. But can't you just sit quietly and let things play out? Beat KC, beat the Lions and lets talk then. What is the need for how you started this thread? Why? Are you trying to agitate?

Yea, there’s been plenty to bash Dak over the years and I’m sure there will be more . But anyone who doesn’t see he can be enough to win with has some serious agendas.

I’m not saying he’s Elite while he does look like it at times but we aren’t as good of offense without him.

And sure there’s a few QB’s we’d rather have but with this version of Dak we could be a tough out as long as this defense can make critical stops.

We have some huge games coming up against KC and Detroit. We’ll see how those go but I have a new found confidence we wouldn't have much chance without him.

"he can be enough to win" - is damning with faint praise. If that's the best you can say about the highest paid player in NFL history...well...all we need to do is underline your statement.
 
I don’t understand what you mean. Is this then a condemnation on the rest of the team?
 
Enough to own the NFC East...sure. This is what Dak has done his entire career, regardless of roster and coach. But I saw him torch an even better Philly team in 2022 in a must-win game too. And the season still resulted in a lackluster offensive performance in a playoff game in SF where they only scored 12 points. To make a deep playoff run, you have to show the ability to beat non-divisional opponents. Dak and the Cowboys have a comfort level with the NFC East since he's been here so long and they play twice a season. But then they eventually have to play against other quality teams from different divisions and they get completely outmatched.

When he proves it then ill be happy to say I was wrong until then..... Dak is not a Super Bowl caliber QB. Please prove me wrong.

Did it really need to be said? Hasn't enough been said about Dak on both sides of the argument that we don't have to rehash it every time there's a good game or bad game by him?

We could have won with Romo and we could have won with Dak if the team around them was good enough. NFL history shows us that based on players like Nick Foles having a Super Bowl ring or Eli having two. Enough mediocre NFL quarterbacks have rings that tell us that top 10 QBs could all have one in the right situation. It's not all about the QB. Did Philly need Hurts to win a title last year? Not likely because it had a 2,000-yard RB and a top defense. It just needed someone to not foul that up.

Don't you think Dak should actually prove he can win before you state as a fact that he can?

I'm gonna need proof, not just feels after a regular season win. Yeah, it was a nice game by Dak, but it's not proof you can win a SB with Dak.

He's in year 10. There's only been one QB in NFL history that made it to a SB (didn't win it) after never having made a conference title game in the previous 10 as a starter - Ken Anderson.

You cannot win with certain QBs, Romo being one of them because he was a choke artist who didn't care enough about being a champion. He even confirmed this for everyone with his "I'll have lived a pretty good life" comment about choking away yet another opportunity. He flat out told you who he was with that comment, and backed it up with choke after choke in big moments.

Thankfully Dak has never made a celebrity QB comment like Romo did, and thus his mindset is different, but you cannot hand wave away the 2-5 playoff record and the fact that Dak would have to join the only other extreme outlier in Ken Anderson to even make it to a SB after 10 years as a starter.

There's a reason almost every qb has a losing record against good teams. It really is the ultimate team sport.

At this point which qb can we point to that takes over despite everything around them and wins? Its difficult to make that argument for Mahomes, Lamar, Allen or Burrows right now. On a whole those are the only guys I look at as a tier above Dak, and to be fair hes had seasons where he can be swapped in ahead of or behind whoever.
