It turns out NFL fans are addicted to watching the Dallas Cowboys fail

NFL fans get a kick out of watching the Cowboys lose. It’s entertaining only because Cowboys’ fans think it’s an outrage if their team is not a contender even for one season. Other teams go through decades of losing seasons and their fans are convinced their day will come. If the Cowboys’ woes continue for any length of time, like anything else that becomes commonplace, it will get less attention.

Thanksgiving numbers will be interesting. Will the new golden child (Detroit Lions) of the NFL have better rating numbers than Cowboys this year?

considering the likely combined record of the two teams, it will indeed be interesting to see the ratings.

NFL fans love watching the circus and the drama that will ensue. There’s a lot of the Cowboys own fans that love watching them fail.

For most of 50 years now, the Cowboys have been the most loved and most hated team simultaneously.

I think Jerry has finally succeeded in destroying this contradiction by severely limiting one of the two options through his "efforts".

I think a lot of interest from Cowboy fans and Cowboy haters comes from Jerry Jones. Folks want to see him fail. He is a narcissistic egomaniac and highly unlikable. Many fans love to see the mess and they attribute it to him alone. Everyone likes to watch a train wreck and love it even more when they hate the engineer.
Jerry has managed to convert Cowboy fans to Cowboy haters.
Now that is an accomplishment!!!
Bravo Jerry!!!!
Most of my friends who are Cowboy fans want us to lose 100-0 and can't wait for the camera to show JJ's face.

Good point.

Unless your a Lions fan....I think watching Dallas find new ways to publicly humiliate themselves (or at least the owner....the players themselves don't seem to have enough pride to be capable of humiliation "Lose by 30 week in week out? As long as I get minezes itzall good bruh")

As the other poster said....a couple more years of this, and people will get board of watching the same train wreck.

As a narrsasistic attention seeking boob desperate for the spotlight, I wonder what Jerruh will do once the hoards stop tuning in just to see his pathetic team lose and his sad antics?

Maybe he'll start taking his pants off on camera, to show the nation the horror show of saggy liver spotted 90 year old man-flesh that resides under his urine soaked suit. He's desperate enough for attention he'll do anything. ME ME ME ME!!!! LOL

You can’t sell that for very long. After the second season with the 5-11 record, the Dave Campo led squad got 5 total national games and ratings started to slip. If that continued, the franchise could really have started to dip. Parcells did more than just give the team the new stadium—he gave them the blueprint for relevance.

Even when the Dallas Cowboys are terrible, people still tune in to watch.

No team in the NFL moves the needle quite like the Dallas Cowboys and for that, you’ve got to give Jerry Jones credit.

Despite being one of the worst teams in the NFL so far this season, the Cowboys are still setting new viewing records. Even when they’re losing by nearly 30 points on national television. According to Sports Media Watch, the Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday had more viewers than it did during its national window last season during Week 10.

This year, the national broadcast had an 11.9 rating with 24.61 million viewers. That’s up from last year’s national broadcast which was on FOX between the New York Giants and Cowboys, which had an 11.0 rating with 21.73 million viewers.

That’s why I love being a cowboy fan. We can win any game we’re in. I don’t care how bad we are right now. We’re going to upset somebody this season that needs to beat us for a playoff spot. To be a cowboy fan is about Mr. cowboy, the class of the league. People don’t believe in it anymore, I kind of feel bad for them.

Arrogant owner and arrogant players feed the fire that was already the Cowboys.

People got a bellyfull of it when we had Irvin and Sanders here at the same time... .gonna take a few generations more for them to forget about that era

I still believe in Mr. cowboy, I’m military, I believe in the star and what it represents. This is America’s team that’s the future. You don’t have a future without a past. And I feel sorry for fans like you. Win or nothing, that’s not how the world spins. Nothing is handed to you. Unless you’re a millennium, lol

What a bunch of losers, find new friends. Anybody who wants to lose is a loser. They don’t understand that will drive to Jerry deeper to his hold.

I think most levelheaded Cowboys fans saw this season coming a mile away!

I am not surprised at all.

I wanted them to tank this season and start rebuilding.

The 2 major problems with that scenario is that Jerry would be doing the rebuilding and Jerry extended Dak!

Its going to be a long road back to respectability!
