Even when the Dallas Cowboys are terrible, people still tune in to watch.

No team in the NFL moves the needle quite like the Dallas Cowboys and for that, you’ve got to give Jerry Jones credit.

Despite being one of the worst teams in the NFL so far this season, the Cowboys are still setting new viewing records. Even when they’re losing by nearly 30 points on national television. According to Sports Media Watch, the Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday had more viewers than it did during its national window last season during Week 10.

This year, the national broadcast had an 11.9 rating with 24.61 million viewers. That’s up from last year’s national broadcast which was on FOX between the New York Giants and Cowboys, which had an 11.0 rating with 21.73 million viewers.

The Dallas Cowboys are always relevant.

Yeah....I'm not surprised.

People love watching My 600 Pound Life, and 1000 pound Sisters....because people just love watching a "car wreck", especially if the big fat blob is annoying with really bad personality.

We're a car wreck.... and we're highly unlikable from top to bottom, so sure, people love watching Dallas self destruct. Nobody likes a sissy . .and the Cowboys are full of them.

Let's hope this incredible knack for getting the support of the viewers continues well into the future. Jerry needs help from the rest of the family to get his head straight and do something reasonably wise to help this team get out of its doldrums. We've been fortunate to stay relevant this long, all things considered. This slump can't go on indefinitely. The popularity of this team isn't guaranteed.
It won't last forever, the longer we linger in the frustration of losing. It's time for Jerry to be treated to a good meeting with his family to get his head straightened out. Otherwise, this magical popularity might diminish woefully over the coming years.

I think a lot of interest from Cowboy fans and Cowboy haters comes from Jerry Jones. Folks want to see him fail. He is a narcissistic egomaniac and highly unlikable. Many fans love to see the mess and they attribute it to him alone. Everyone likes to watch a train wreck and love it even more when they hate the engineer.

Indeed sir.
Peeps love watching the Cowboys fail, probably more now than actually still love them.

and water is wet

like this is any kind of revelation?

really who has not figured this out by now?

And this is why Jerry will never change. He had built a product that people are addicted to. Money is all that matters in the NFL

According to the hate text I get on gameday, I'd have to agree.

Ever hear the term Rubber necking?
When you see a wreck on the highway rubberneckers can't help themselves, they'd rather run into a tree than keep their eyes on the road! :muttley:

The cowboys are the heel of the national entertainment league.

Lazy article....Wynston Wilcox is 40+ years late to the party on this.
