It Was Fun While It Lasted

You do realize that Garrett said that last season under Wade that he did not want to "overstep" Wade's authority during practice or any other part of Wade's philosophy on how to run a team, right?

So, no, IMO, Wade was responsible for the team not being ready to play...offense, defense, and SP teams. You know, the Head Coach responsibility thing?

He didn't have to "overstep" Wade because Wade had nothing to do with the offense. When Dez got hurt, Jerry (not Wade) put the kibosh on aggressive practices. In any event, they had plenty of time to get their act together between the last few pre-season games and the season opener at Fed-Ex, but they didn't. That's on Red--the guy with unilateral control over the offense. The only reason we were even in that game is because of Wade and the defense.

Glad you don't run and hide, very impressive !

Just pre-emptive moaning. Lowering personal expectations helps deal with the failure which we all know is coming. The past decade plus leads one to keep the expectations down, especially during the pre-season.

:laugh2:

Then why follow the Cowboys if that's what you think? That is the definition of stupid!

Then why did the team respond to Garrett when Wade got booted?

And, now you are saying it was Jerry, not Wade? Well, just who the hell was it now? Wade, Garrett, or Jerry?

Don't think that is Webster's definition of stupid, but whatever works for you buddy !

My idea or definition of a fact is something not easily ignored, refuted, or proven wrong.

Last year people were talking about a vanilla approach by the offense so as not to show anyone anything. That did NOT carry over to the season where the team scored almost 400 points.

What sucked was the Defense which surrendered 436 points, 2nd most in the NFL.

So calling out the people who talked about the vanilla offense is missing the boat and theogt saw right through it.

I know....

Stupid is as stupid does, buddy.

If I thought that something that I do is not going to be fun or satisfying, and I did it anyway...yeah, then I'm stupid!

Get it now?

(again, i doubt it)

You could just as easily credit Kitna, no? Fear is a great motivator. Wade's firing told the players that Jerry meant business this time. If Wade could get the ax, they could be next. In that sense, Garrett was incidental to the turnaround, and anyone would look like a disciplinarian compared to Wade. Once Jason's pep talks, dress codes, and tough guy routines get old, I fear they'll backslide again. Please keep in mind that Wade won two NFCE titles doing it his way. Let's see if Jason is as fortunate.

No doubt. One can be a fan, even if the team is bad. No need to create a facade or pretend the team is flawless, at least for me. I appreciate your continued personal attacks though, you know it ain't personal, unless you happen to be Jerry.

Pretty true, pretty true. I hope to be proven wrong, badly wrong, and lose my voice after a game from cheering the performance instead of being horse from yelling at the goofy play.

I keep reading how the 2009 draft is killing us. Hell it's more than that. We have done a poor job at developing enough young players. With all that dead money to look forward to next year, it's going to be critical for some of these youngsters to step up and show they can play.

Honestly fellas, when I look at this team with non-biased eyes, I'm not liking what I'm seeing...

QB - We're good, Romo is a top-five QB (I don't care what anyone says) and we have one of the better backups in the league
WR - happy with starters, but ZERO depth now
RBs - Not bad, not great. Decent depth with the rook.
O-Line - What's to be excited about? We were pretty bad last year, horrific in the run game, and we simply retained some of our guys. Tyron Smith? This guy looks like a bust to me. At any rate, he's a rook.

D-Line - We just lost Bowen. We are weaker than we were last year...and we sucked last year
Linebackers -- How Brooking still has a job on this team, I have no idea. Speaks to how little we have behind him moreso than his actual effectiveness, he is OLD and is showing every bit of it. D-Ware, Spencer, fine.
D-Backs -- Lost cause, one of the worst units in the NFL as it currently stands. Newman and Jenkins can't cover, our safeties can't cover nor can they support the run. But other than that, they're fine.

Special Teams -- Our kicker blows. He can kick them into the endzone on kickoffs, but does anyone really have any faith in this guy when it comes to a pressure kick?

Should be a great 2011!

As one of about six in here that don't drink the Jerry Jones Kool Aid...you will be called a troll, told to root for another team, told you are not a true fan.

You must learn to only support and never, never be objective and actually call out the b.s. you are seeing.

Oh, and wear your "We got 5" t-shirt even though the last one was in the 1st term of the Clinton Administration when AOL didn't even have an unlimited internet plan yet.

The only part that sucks right now is watching the Texans board have almost a 100 page thread on their duel with the Jets for Aso. Exciting. I've been reading the Jets board too. Rather see him with the Jets. Would hate for the Texans to actually rise up and steal some thunder. Seems like FA for our Boys the last few years has been basically fill ins and resigns.

One if six? What about the other hundreds of fans that think you and your five other knuckleheads are just trolling to get a rise out of the board!

Dude, go eat your chicken and shut up!

I am one of those 6 who don't drink it. But the chickens are coming home to roost. When you paid Leonard Davis what you paid him. When you pay BOTH money and draft picks to Roy Williams like we did. Which set the tone for the disasterous 2009 draft! When you get cute on draft day and pass up on Steven Jackson...which leads to over paying Marion Barber..which leads to using a 1st round pick on Felix Jones..etc...Steven Jackson is all of RBs wrapped up in one!!!!!!!!! I could go on and on....but I have said I a numb to the crap going on in Dallas. Like Parcells said, in three years you will not even recognize I was here!

I have a much higher view of the members of this board then you. They are able to control their emotions like big kids and need not get worked up just because some fans are not jumping with joy over the off-season so far.

You know, we can all look to the past in an attempt to view the future, although it has obvious limitations. You can look at the team on paper now and have concerns.

I'm not critical of those who are excited about entering a new season, I'm excited too but I temper it with an understanding that concerns remain and that my opinion of our GM continues to fall; not that it matters, i have zero say in the organizations and this is just a place to discuss the team with little if any real impact.

I believe this qualifies him to be a scout in the Raiders organization.
