It would appear that the defense is the issue, but

In a post game interview Baker Mayfield admitted they took their foot off the pedal and wished they hadn't. THAT is why Dak was able to appear as though he was leading this offensive charge. It was garbage time and the Browns starters had already tuned the game out.
That’s bull****.

The Defense still could have kept the score to within a number which would make it possible for the offense to come back and win it. The thing I will say that the offense needs to stop turning over the ball, but nothing excuses how badly this Defense has performed.

Dak and the offense disappeared for two quarters today.
The Cowboys offense disappeared after a turnover by Dak and then another by Zeke- and stayed gone for the second and third quarter.
Now, you can blame the defense- and I'm sure Mike Nolan is getting walking papers ready for a few "hotboyz" holdovers that don't fit his scheme, but we repeatedly see Dak fold when the pressure is on.
He didn't even seem to try until they got a couple of breaks against the prevent defense.
As usual, he pads his stats against prevent defense, but if the Browns had not been kind enough to drop a few of Dak's passes, this game might have gotten even further out of hand.
Why do the Cowboys continue to struggle now that Garrett is gone? Because his philosophy is too engrained in too many holdovers from the last ten years.
Nolan will get the defense under control. By mid season or sooner the kinks worked out. Next off season there will likely be a mass exodus of players that don't fit Nolan's scheme.
But the Garrett 2.0 quarterback is still shutting down under pressure. And he's actually pretty good if he would just hang in there through the struggles. But he doesn't.
You saw it yourself again today.

Do you know who much Defense you can pick up with 31 million Cap $?

I saw the offense put up 38 points and the defense get completely embarrassed yet again.
You saw the offense disappear then like a high school delinquent who crams the night before the exam start playing in the 4th quarter. The only reason they scored was because of Cleveland’s prevent defense and them taking the foot off the gas.

Yeah. We were down 41-14, it was tze 4th quater and most of the browns already took a shower when our offense "finally" clicked.

Guess the browns had some street guys playing because theit own werent willing to change clothes again.
Did you see the Browns on the sidelines? They looked shook.

I don't want to have to complain about Dak, but you cannot ignore how he taps out every time things get tough.
The guy is pretty good until he gets frustrated. He is just like Donovan McNabb used to be.

It's called you have a mental illness, and it centers around your fixation on Dak.

You clearly do not know what a prevent defense is since the Browns did not play prevent at all today.

Please learn this game before coming here and being so opinionated.

Ahhhhh it was the offense who gave up 300 yards rushing and almost 500 yards of offense and 49 points.... silly me I thought the defense did me.
My point is this offense knows this d is putrid and can't turn the ball over.
Yes the d is terrrible and I'd fire them all....

You clearly don't know how teams play prevent after getting a huge lead with still two and a half quarters to play.
You should learn a few things about football.

Given what this defense has done for the last 3 weeks, setting all kinds of really bad records, any focus on the offense or Dak or Elliott or Cooper is largely misplaced.

This team is 4-0 if the defense wasn't the worst in the NFL and on track to be one of the worst, if not the worst, in NFL history.

The offense makes untimely mistakes, and stalls at points. That said they are more than enough to win games, with any semblance of a defense.

You'd have to be a biased moron to not see how historically bad this defense is.

What you just said right now means zero.
The Browns did not play prevent defense today.

You don't have to like it but I don't care.

The offense is scoring 31.5 ppg.
The defense is allowing 36.5 ppg.

Spot the difference?

sorry, you cannot say “ that is more than enough to win games” - two turnovers that lead to a 14 point swing along with momentum. Not to mention taking a bad defense and adding more stress by making them defensed a short field,

Any defense and we can sustain the mistakes. We have no defense, that is the story of this season.

The problem is that when the defense is this bad an you seemingly have to score on every drive, than team's end up forcing the ball because they know if they do not put up 40 points every game. a thing that is VERY hard to do in the NFL, then they are going to lose.

It does not matter how many quarters we did not score. If you score 38 points you are supposed to win the game. This defense is horrid and ive never seen a group of guys that have absolutely no integrity to sit there and let another man beat them play in and play out and every single week

You know, it's funny how much better a defense can be when their offense plays 60 minutes, too.
Part of the defense is keeping the opposing team's offense on the bench.
The defense is struggling- that is for sure.
But the offense can help.
