It's 1989 all over again

i do not know i think this team reminds me of 1988 cowboys landrys last year. we have a few talented players mixed with a players who have no business even still playing in the nfl. the 89 team was total rebuild of young players. this team has talent on it and are completely underperforming just like landrys last year.

I really think this is it. This team is at a crossroads and we could be in for a long stretch of duldrums here with the contracts that have been handed out.

Yes the year is still young and maybe this team (hopefully) wakes up, but I'm worried as to how long this playoff/championship drought will continue.

That team... would have killed this team.

Why?

Because they actually still wanted to win.

This team, couldn't care less.

...at least our 2020 team has The Swipe groove. ..;)...

I remember that 1-15 team....and frankly, this current team seems worse!! At least the 1989 team played hard, and we knew at some point, things would all come together. This 2020 team...I just don't know anymore.

I remember it too. The only thing this team has in common with that one is a stud first round pick that wears #88. That team wasn’t saddled with ridiculously bad contracts at running back, wide receiver, linebacker, defensive end...

And as bad as this team is, they would cream the 89 team. That team was so devoid of talent it was scary.

This team is as bad as that 1-15 team. Only thing is that team had hope. Not sure this team has any.

Dallas was never as bad as they are now.

Not that I can recall, anyway.

This current roster is a festering blob of suck.

The 89 team had a stud WR wearing #88, and one of the best RBs in the league. There was no cap then and fans did not care about salaries like they do now. The team had a bunch of aging vets as well.

If only we had a Walker to trade, or do we? Man I'm desperate here anything is on the table.

The Dallas Cowboys will NEVER get deep into the playoffs, which means NO Super Bowls while the Jones' own this team!

That does not makes sense because Jerry has won 3 Super Bowls. Now if you want to backpedal and state what "you really meant", then go ahead.

Actually it's worse. Much much worse. Remember when the Cleveland Browns won all them championships? Yeah, neither do I. The same is being said about America's Laughingstock.

I’d say 2 more years . Heavy on D next year. See how D improves , if at all this season, and we will know if we have become a perennial also ran.....

Jerry is living off the good will of fans like me who have been with them since the 60’s but are losing interest fast in a team that looks like it has lost its soul

There’s too much talent on this team, their going to have to come together as men, stop the wining and MM must make his mark if Jerry is going to stay with him

The 1989 team did not have hope. Stop with this crap. EVERYONE questions Jimmy and Jerry and their first season. It was a complete crap show. The "hope" started the next year after Jerry and Jimmy showed they were not just going to sit there and not make changes. And then Jimmy proving he can win games and team was moving in the right direction.

1989 there was no hope.
Bingo. Jimmy was ridiculed as a college coach in over his head in the pros. I went to every miserable game that year and hope was not abound after about the 3rd game of the season. There was equal fan support for Steve Walsh over Aikman because the former was “cerebral” and the later just a “dumb jock.” This “there was hope” crap is a product of revisionist history based on hindsight.
