Is it just me, or is the world shrinking?

Exhibit 1. The debit/credit card machines at the grocery check out. Anyone else have to stoop down to read and use them?
Exhibit 2. Do tables a restaurant's seem...lower?
Exhibit 3. Store door handles. It seems I have to reach down further to grab them.
Exhibit 4. Public toilets They just seem to sit lower.

What brought this up was last night I was checking the rear of the house and there are some new railings that cover a short flight of stairs in our Spa. I had to literally bend down for my hand to reach the rail.

Now I'm no giant at Six One and a half. so something strange is going on. And...It's every where!

When we were down in Texas a few years back visiting my father, we went to a historic site in McKinney called Chestnut Square. He had done some of the renovation woodwork and was showing us around the place.

He pointed out that in one of the houses, the staircase steps were very small. If you went at it straight with your foot, only half of it would fit on, because back then, people were smaller overall, feet included, and didn't need as big a step.

Also, look at all the behemoths that play in pro sports. There weren't nearly as many way back when.

I think you are just a big dude, but they have to keep things accessible for the short people like me, too. ;)

Let the short people have their well positioned door handles and knee-accommodating tables.

We tall people make more money, are more intelligent, more attractive and are generally happier people.

At 6'4", I think it's a fair trade off. :D

Never noticed height issues, but seats are certainly getting narrower.

Maybe you've just gotten better at filling the seats in.

Pfft.

I know lots of poor, dumb, ugly, miserable tall people!

But, that's the point. It's as if every facet of our world is being deliberately shrunken to fit a certain "segment" of the population. It's a conspiracy I tell you!

The correlation between height and intelligence is fairly weak but statistically significant.

Of course, recent studies have also shown that liberals are more intelligent than conservatives and atheists are more intelligent than religious people.

That's three strikes against me. I suppose I should just sit down, shut up, and let the tall, liberal atheists make the important decisions. I bet they have fabulous highlights, too.

Restaurant tables are getting smaller so they can fit more people in to the same space as before. Since I'm 6'1 300 + I know this to be a fact. Lol

Jordan did the same thing and got a technical.

Is Mutumbo still playing? I know they don't know how old he is, but he's got to be in his mid 40s.

Irrefutable evidence that height matters...

I'm 6'1 205 and I had one hell of a time getting out of the booth at Copeland's the other night.

On the flip side, recent studies have suggested that short people have longer lifespans than tall people.

You'd never dunk on me even if you had a trampoline and I'd break that finger off and shove up your ***. :laugh2:

I wouldn't need to dunk on you. I'd just cross you up for the easy lay-up.
