If we don't get some FA help and draft players that can contribute immediately next season then we should all be disappointed.

Leave the project defensive players to other teams.

Most people on this board would say eagles have an elite defense. So I was watching the games today enjoying the Cowboys at 11-1 and got to thinking.

Eagles have given up 20 points to Cincy and it's almost half time.........Cincy had 0 against us.

What about GB? How many points to Eagles give up at home to GB but yet we went to Lambeau and held them to 16 points.

The big thing is we are doing it without sacks and turnovers which is much more impressive. I know most of you will talk about pass rush but with no pass rush they are keeping teams from scoring. Not to mention Church, Claiborne and Wilcox have all been out. Time to give them credit for keeping us in games. A defensive draft will put this group into elite status
Underrated but not elite.

The offense helps the defense by having a good time of possession and by often getting ahead on the scoreboard.

It seems that the defense has been very good at forcing field goals over TDs and in red zone defense.

Dallas will use free agency, the draft, the waiver wire and possible trades to put together the best roster it can next year.

I'm not one who will say the team needs a defensive draft. Great if it happens to turn out that way, but I just want to select good players that will improve the talent base. Defense, offense, doesn't matter in the long run.

Focus on going after good players.

Use free agency to patch as many holes as possible and be prepared to do anything in the draft.

NFL defenses are just bad.

Vikings and Denver plays the best defense.. Everyone else is just meh...

Then Dallas' 17 points to the Vikings' 15 says something about rhe Dallas defense. I'm not saying the Dallas defense is great, and the Vikings' offense isn't as good as Dallas, but the fact is, the Vikings lost.

The Dallas red-zone defense is the difference...and it looks like a big one, considering the team only has 22 sacks, 12 forced fumbles and 4 INTs to date...19 ppg...good for fifth in the league. It really is rather unbelievable that the defense has been so good without a lot of turnovers. They lead the league in net point differential (105) and no team is within 50 points except New England (96).

They're average, but they play hard and the effort is what allows them to be a decent unit. If Jaylon Smith returns, we seriously address RDE, keep the secondary intact/add young dbs they could emerge as an excellent defense. To me elite defenses have perennial pro bowlers at each level and we arent there yet. However, Byron Jones could be there soon, Lee is pretty much there, then who is going to emerge as that difference maker on the dl? When I look at a team like the Seahawks they had two pro bowl safetys, a pro bowl cb, a pro bowl lb, and 2 pro bowl dl..
