It's early, but here's my 53 man roster

no way Tucker makes it. How many penalty yards was he responsible for? Especially on the 3rd and 50.

As for the OT position: Adams, Vollers, Petitti, Rogers, and Tucker.

That really is overkill. If you think Tucker is staying then one of the other guys has to go. I don't see the logic in keeping that many guys.

If Adams goes down, then Vollers, Rogers and maybe Petitti can fill in on that side. But all of those guys can play the right side if need be. Right now I think it is a battle between Rogers and Tucker. If Rogers is healthy when TC ends then he will stick. If not, then Tucker sticks.

Just because Tucker played RT for us last year doesn't mean he can help us this year. Petitti struggled saturday (as would be expected), but it wasn't as bad as what Tucker did against 2nd stringers. I just don't get what this guy is thinking about on the field. I think you will find a better final roster cut from another team than to keep Tucker.

Who would you keep then?

OT's = Adams, Vollers, Rogers, Pettitti, Tucker.

If you cut Tucker, who started all butthe final 3 games last season and must have done something well now and then, then you are hoping Vollers can man the spot all season...otherwise you are stuck with a rookie OT or a 2nd year guy everyone has labelled "Wuss".

I know he stunk it up in the first preseason game, but as you guys who like our young QBs are apt to say, it's only 1 game. I hope we find a better starter, but I just don't see the guy getting cut outright unless he has a total meltdown in the next games.

yeppers...I fixed Robinson....I see no way we keep 8 LBs no matter what defense we run...you can only play 4 at a time...and I don't think they're that good.

We'll see about the FB's....I think he's full of it on no FB's...that won't happen...we don't have a TE/HB who would be a better lead blocker, and when you don't use one, the blitzes kill your running game.

As for the 54, I would cut down on the OL or cut Barnes...I really want a new lead blocker.
Much of last year Parcells actually kept 8 LBs, and he usually played 7 of them in games. Parcells likes LBs, and they are good special teams players (again something Parcells likes). No less then 8 LBs is my bet, maybe more (thougt it will hurt to cut down elsewhere).

I hope we keep Polite as our FB. He has the chance to prove himself now with Barnes injured. But that roster spot could go to a tight end. Sounds like Parcells i high on Ryan (at least before his injury) and likes Pierce's long snapping ability. It will be interesting to see if Pierce can beat Robinson out as the teams long snapper - I don't think so.

I also think that Parcells might only keep 5 CBs even though he said he would like to keep 6. It depends on how many players we keep at TE and on the D-line.

That is a key statement. I would expect our final 53 to have at least one final cut from another team, or possibly another FA.

edit: I agree that we only keep one FB this year. Copper/Crowder is a tough choice to make if Crowder shows he is also good on ST's.

I don't think shanle is eligible for the practice squad.
1 FB, 9 OL has been the usual numbers, I think one year they went in with 8

very close to mine, actually...you just cut one of my OL and one of my WRs and kept an extra CB and LB and DL...I really think you'll have to cut someone to keep A-Train though...I think we'll keep 4 RBs. The only reason I kept Copper instead of a CB was for special teams anyway. And I kept the extra OL because it's early and I'm not sure what will happen yet.

I think the Tucker situation is really going to surprise some people.

I think Bill will have to keep either Fowler or Shanle inside, but not both...I think he'll like Fowler's size....Shanle is a slightly smaller guy.

What's really funny zebra is that we don't seem to be able to jettison that damned Lynn Scott....lmao.

Shanle gets to the ball.

Tucker is toast Wayne, Noll is PS eligible and can play some tackle.

One possibility is if what Parcells is saying about playing the nickel a lot and putting your best players out their we may play a lot with Newman, Henry and Glenn out there together and only keep 3 safeties.

He played better than Davis and Reese on Saturday.

From what I saw Beriault is our best safety not named Roy.

Last year we kept 10 O-line until late in the season when Lehr was cut. And I’m pretty sure we also had 10 O-line on the roster in 2003.

Maybe we could get away with keeping 9 this year (meaning Noll would get cut). But it seems like Parcells likes to keep 10 O-line on the roster.

This might actually be a possibility if Reeves can play the nickle safety.

Interesting so far...

Scott doesn't make my team, I would take Reese over him...

Polite is the only FB...
Rat man makes my team (So far)
Both Fowler & Shanle do too...

Plenty of time yet...

It would be nice if one of Tucker or Rogers would step up...

What happened to our deep snapper?

We aren't going to have one of those this year. I think Parcells is thinking that we are never going to have to kick a field goal or punt. I kind of like this idea personally, it gives us 4 downs to get a first down and it sends a message to the other team. Parcells likes alot of the players on the bubble, and the Cap Space Robinson is taking up is way too much.

Yeah, I'd love to see him show that he can control himself and play the ball...he'd be a fine FS in the mold of George TEague if he could...We got Teague near the end of his career, but that little sucker was a hitter too.
