The average age of our top 3 WR's is 30.6.

The average age of our top 3 CB's is 30.6.

I'm thinking CB is where the value is going to be at with #22. With TNew in the last year of his contract and Henry and Glenn turning 31 and35 respectively, its about as big of a need as we have.

YES! But it is more than just their old age [in football years].....

Remember...our pass defense blew last year.

Ranked #24.

I don't agree at all. We are set with TNew for a long time. But Henry and Glenn will both be replaced within the next couple of years.

CB is a major need along with DT. CB Aaron Glenn is 35, Henry will be 31 & Newman will be 29 with no one of significance behind them. We simply can't rely on Glenn anymore and who knows how long Henry has. If Revis is still there when we draft, then we gotta take him; besides he's also a good return man and we certainly could use that. As for DT, Ferguson (32) played well last year but we've got nobody (Ratliff isn't a DT and we don't know if Stanley will ever be anything) behind him nor a successor on board. NT is a primary need. If the draft were held today, I'm thinking we go CB (Revis), DT (Tank Tyler) with an OL in the 3rd round, 4th round (deOssie whose also a L/S) & BPA rest of draft.

Wow... talking about skewing stats to suit your argument.

How about you go average age of the starters at those positions? Top 2. Does that change anything?

Considering nickelbacks play upwards of 40-50% of the defensive snaps, I tend to think they're pretty important even if you think starters are only relevant.

As far as other factors when concerning need .... Do you want to compare how many years are contract are left on our starters at CB compared to WR? Or how about where we ranked in pass offense compared to pass defense?

If we stay put at 22, then the only positioins available for starting IMO would be Free Safety, outside linebacker, posible guard but I don't see Jerry drafting a guard in the 1st round, since he said he wouldn't.

Well how about this... both positions play 3 deep pretty often... But the 3rd CB is needed to make your average age that high. The 3rd WR is needed to lower your WR average age.

If the third player is skewing your averages, wouldn't it make MORE SENSE to look for contingencies at positions where you have two guys with 10 years in the league rather than a position where you have one guy with over 10 years experience.

Odds are there will be two of our WRs out of the league (for age reasons) before there will be two of our CBs out of the league.

You can't be serious. Jamel Anderson?

Obviously the final piece in the Cowboys' Super Bowl puzzle, the team can now rest easy, get ready for next season... no need for further improvements, they can actually trade away all their draft picks for picks in future years...

I've been saying for some time now that the only thing this team needs is an oft-injured, big possession receiver from the CFL... now they have it...

And I haven't even touched on the equally BRILLIANT signing of offensive lineman Jim Molinaro; if ever any NFL player was equipped to handle ridin' the bench, it's big Jim...

Praise the Lawd, and pass the ammunition... :D
