Any possible June 1st cuts interesting to Dallas?

Actually, didn't they change it to May 12th or something?

I'm lost.

I was thinking about this today but haven't heard anything. I imagine news will be released later today?

To the op tho: I have no predictions on surprise cuts

Yes.

There is also the designated June 1st option where teams can cut the player in the Spring but it still hit the books like a June 1st (May 12th) cut. Because of the designated option, many players that would have been June 1st (May 12th) cut already hit free agency in March.

Thanks for the info, I was wondering about the dates.

You probably know this, but they don't have to cut the player exactly on June 1st (May 12th). That is just the 1st day that it can happen. The Cowboys could cut Carr a week before game 1 and it would still hit the books like a June 1st (May 12th) cut.

No I didn't know you could do that, but that will give the Cowboys some options.

Everything I've found says May 12th has nothing to do with June 1st cuts. It simply moved up the date a player can sign without counting against the comp pick equation. June 1st is still the date players can be cut with minimal implications and the date post June 1st designations savings hit.

I think our team is pretty much what it is this season except for RB (besides little JAGs here and there.)

And I don't think it'll be AD. But I think we will either sign a Knowshon Moreno or make a trade for a Lamar Miller.

That is the same thing I read.

I recall AdamJT13 also said it only changed for the comp picks.

Well don't you have to designate it a June 1st cut? Otherwise we could opt to take all the dead money this year but have nothing on the cap next.
