It's June 1st cut time

Well don't you have to designate it a June 1st cut? Otherwise we could opt to take all the dead money this year but have nothing on the cap next.

Pretty sure that every cut after June 1st only includes the 2015 cap hit. They all leave future dead money for next year.

I have never heard of a team asking to take the full hit this year.

The "designated June 1st" option refers to cutting a player before June 1st but still having it count as a June 1st cut. There would be no reason after June 1st for the team to want it to all hit the cap in the current year. They can just carry the extra cap space forward which would exactly offset the amount that hit the cap the following year.
