We need a defensive coordinator and you should either speak up and say you are staying and start DC interviews or just get the heck out of dodge and let the new coach start his era.

Oh, yeah, you geniuses at the Ranch: get Parcells or whoever to start planning for the new season. If Parcells can't make up his mind by now he is a truly confused East Coast tough guy.

Work for the new season -- FA, qb camps, the draft, camp -- should begin now.

Calm down. As far as I know, only a few positions have been filled so far, while dozens more will likely be filled in the next month. In all likelihood, Bill is back and this is moot, but it's not like he's costing us quality replacements at the moment.

The proactive teams use every day available before the spring fling.
But, again, the Parcells angst thing should be ended asap. Just make up your mind and in that certainty, the Cowboys can move in on their objectives this spring. With a leader.

I absolutely agree that BP should take a week or so to come to a decision. THAT is something that SHOULD NOT be done off the cuff, or in a hurry.

With apologies as I'm sure this has all been discussed ad nauseam already...

If the reports I've heard are true that Parcells did in fact take the initiative to express interest in going to NY ... looking in from the outside it boggles the mind that his returning to coach in Dallas for another year is an option.

It's hard to imagine it playing very weill in the locker room through the long drudgery of minicamps and a grueling training camp. Are the players likely to come in fully committed and ready to go to war for a guy they know would prefer to be elsewhere?

And I can't see how J. Jones could really do anything but cut ties at this point. How would he justify it to himself, his players and the fans? Is it conceivable he could bite his lip, swallow his pride and go on full spin mode for a full year defending bringing back a man who would not just be a lame duck, but one who has already publicly expressed that being the Cowboys head coach is, at best, his second choice?

Again, not trying to push buttons here. I just haven't had time to read up enough on the dynamics in play right now and figured the best place to ask the questions is somewhere that people who care enough to have studied all the angles gather to hash them out.

Actually, per Jean-Jacques Taylor he is. Dom Capers supposedly turned his nose up when Parcells called him up.

The thing that everyone doesn't seem to realize, until they hear things like Dom Capers turning up his nose at Purcells, is that "established" guys don't want to work for Purcells, unless they have no other options. The scary thing for me is if you look at the quality of our coaching staff, it's not that great. Who on our staff can step in as our next HC? That's why all this talk about not wanting start over that people are using as an excuse to keep Purcells around this year annoys me. Guess what folks, we'll be starting over again after next year. Since I don't see BP taking us to the SuperBowl next year, I'm fine with starting over sooner rather than later.

I agree that's way I am down for getting rid of the whole staff including Parcells.
