It's not like any of this is a surprise

The Cowboys under Dak have always been beaten badly when they faced a legitimate contender or any team that was willing to get physical with them. Their defense gets gashed and they have no offense until the opposing team backs off and coasts for the remainder of the game.
Then, Dak puts up big stats in a comeback that is destined to fail because the opposing team was cruising.
So this season the NFL wanted ratings early, so they pitted the top teams against other top teams early. It's been that way all over the league; contenders knocking each other off in the first three weeks to see who is going to be left standing and in control of their division as the season gets under way.
And that was bad news for the Cowboys. Facing playoff caliber teams at the beginning of the season exposed them. They didn't get to pad their record with wins vs easy teams before the truth set in. And the NFC East may not be the cake walk it has been in the past.
This is the Cowboys. Might as well let them be exposed early rather than have them cruise into the post season like champions only to get manhandled by a contender at that point. If they can't cut it, let another perennial loser have a shot at the playoffs.
If this makes them mad, let them prove me wrong.

The defense puts Dak in a huge hole where we all know we have to score at least 30 point to have a chance. Dak doesn’t play defense and Dak doesn't make the GM decisions that have doomed any chance of a deep playoff run for almost 3 decades. Dak is not a top five QB but he is a top QB stats wise.

Dak has been aweful the past 2 games when the game was still in reach. The past 3 home games actually, he's come out flat and out of rythm. He sucked for 3 quarters against Balitmore and all 4 quarters vs New Orleans. He needs to move the chains and give the defense a rest. His stats are meaningless bc he's not putting them up when the game is still in question.

In fairness, teams have a 75% chance of winning when they score TD’s on their first two possessions which both the saints and ravens have done. Bills and commanders scored td’s on their first two possessions last night and… they won. The common denominator in the Cowboys, Jags, and Bengals. Defenses were trash.

So if our offense can just score 2 tds on their first 2 drives we have a 75% chance of winning?

Thats a league average stat which probably varies greatly by team. The better teams can overcome deficits while teams like the Giants probably lose 99% of the games they get behind.

The defense giving up a TD has nothing to do with Dak not being able to score one of his own. They play the game for a reason. He's not playing against insurmountable odds. He just sucks under pressure.

Usually a pretty good indicator of
Your defense being able to stop the other team. It doesn’t say 100%, just what the analytics show.

Seems like a good indicator that if offenses score tds on their first 2 possessions it gives them a great chance to win.

No but Dak does constantly throw behind his receivers while going 3 and out repeatedly.

He does not help the defense any more than they have been helping him.

The defense this, the defense that. Yeah they sucked in the last two games. But how about making it 14-14 then for a start? This would keep the pressure on the other team and turns it into a whole nother ballgame.

The defense hasn't been doing their job, true. Same thing goes for Dak.

Dak is not a perfect QB and def has his limitations, but last yr he led the league in TD passes and threw for over 4k yards. That puts him in some pretty good company. And he did that with Jerry as the head coach, Jerry as the GM, and Jerry creating constant distractions that 31 other QBs never have to contend with.

Let’s not pretend the Cowboys are like any other franchise because we are not. Our front office dysfunction has produced a near 3 decade deep playoff run drought that looks to continue for years. And fans wanted Dak to take a home town discount to put up with all the bs Jerry puts everyone in the org through.

As long as Jerry is Jerruh, with his post game pressers, weekly radio show for him and one for his son, don't matter who the coach is, don't matter who the QB is, don't matter how good or in our case bad the defense is, we will continue to be an average football team. Not surprised at all.

The NFC East has been there for the taking but that gap has closed quickly.

Unless this entire franchise meaning coaches and players somehow miraculously find a way to right this ship soon, we will be receiving a decent draft slot 2025.

This current team plays soft, like Pillsbury dough boy soft, and it's on both sides of the ball, both offense and defense, our STs have at least been quality.

Cowboys are 1-2 and we have a way to go still, but it's one thing to be 1-2 strong, and an entirely different thing to be 1-2 soft.

This current team has shown this old man's eye nothing but softness, and if they find a way to lose to the Giants than I would imagine they would then be softer than the softest pillow that has ever been made.

I agree with most of what you posted, except for stats don’t win championships and that is the only thing that Dak is proficient in rather than his play.

I understand. Dak deserves some credit while shouldering some blame as well. This whole team is a huge mess that a third grader could have predicted based on our non existent off season moves and that is solely on the Jones boys. Dak and every other players are unfortunately on alone of the most dysfunctional organizations in the NFL.
