Amazing how two sports networks report the same piece of news:

FoxSports said "Cowboys have released cornerback Adam 'Pacman' Jones"

ESPN said "Cowboys release cornerback Adam 'Pacman' Jones amid rumors of involvement in an Atlanta shooting two years ago"

Anyone else notice the difference?

As long as Pacman is released I don't care what the difference is between the 2 reports. :laugh2:

The story may or may not be true, but criminal investigation is not what sports channels do, exactly. You think there's no possibility their heightened interest has anything to do with how T.O. has treated ESPN this season?

Yes, Javier Collins. I heard quite a bit about it.

ESPN's chub for Owens doens't have anything to do with Pacman. He is a story all on his own. Like Mike Vick. They pound some stories to death. Pacman is one of them. It happened before he ever came to Dallas.

Exactly. And I haven't watched NFLN this week, but I bet they were the same way.

Nobody thinks Pacman is a bigger scumbag than I do, and I've said a billion times what a thug I think he is. But I'm curious to see how solid this new "evidence" is. If it's just a fuzzy and inconclusive security video plus some other thug that said he did it, that'll be pretty lame.

And that's what I expect it to be -- lame.

Look no furthur than plastic face, for the reason why each season we have a spectacle. Even with BP here, we couldn't help but have weekly ordeals.

Precisely.. which creates a feeding frenzy for the so called "BSPN" .. I'm so off of the whole ESPN hates us schtick. I used to get angry at the media.. but who can blame them. You have to shut them up by showing the ability to run a functional winning organization. Two things we clearly haven't achieved.

I'm glad the situation has been resolved but I fully expect the tag "former Dallas Cowboy Adam 'Pacman' Jones" from now on whenever anything happens with him.

Then when the story gets going he changes it to his source is "a cowboys player"

Whether or not Pacman did this is irrevlant(sp), (and if he did hes an idiot) this happened 2 seasons ago. He served a lengthy suspension and came back on the field. Im not taking up for the guy Im moreso looking at Espn biased here. Why would you go looking, digging, hunting etc if you dont have a vendatta? If they did find new evidence, well, why dont you give it to the police and let them make a statement if it needs be. Instead, espn promotes an hour show coming up this weekend. The way they did this is so unprofessional. Its like bringing up Kobe's affair again or new allegations in the Ron Artest fight in Detriot. Hate to say it but Espn is out to get us bad. They have hired private investigators and I would bet Owens, Romo and some others all have someone following them. I would be mad if I were a player too. These reporters are like nats they dont leave you alone. Anyone else agree?

So when most of the posters here said pacman wouldn't be worth the trouble (bad PR) he'd cause you just weren't listening? What the hell did they do that's so unprofessional? They come out a week ahead of time and say publicly that they are going to report on this story. Didn't exactly catch the Cowboys off guard did it? They released him immediately. Only a complete moron wouldn't believe the Cowboys knew about this beforehand and were just hoping nothing would come of it.

By saying bias did you mean genius because they know exactly what garners the most attention from fans who watch their channel and read their websites which is why they are now the largest and most known sports media outlet in the history of mankind?

I don't care much more ESPN either anymore. I think they do go out of their way to disrespect Dallas.
However, I have to say this. This probably came up by doing research for a TV program that has been on for years, and have brought out many of facts on other situations and players as well. And not just Cowboys. So I think it is some very good investigative reporting and reseach.
Are they smiling and promoting it because it's the Cowboys, yes. Probably moreso than if he was with any other team. Simply because of the ratings.

Will I watch it, probably not, but I won't hold it against them either. This is about a player, not a team. Or at least I hope the keep it that way.

The original police report about the incident tells all about the argument, Jones' threats that he was going to "kill all y'all in here," Jones saying he was going to get his gun and the shooting that followed. The police also said someone in Jones' entourage was involved in the shooting. All of that was reported in the media when it happened. So the three guys who were shot at saying Jones was responsible isn't really anything new.

The only new information would be from the informant -- someone presumably other than the targets, possibly in Jones' entourage and maybe even the shooter -- who told the police that Jones arranged the shooting. But that wasn't shown in this portion of the report.

The disturbing part of that video is the report that Jerry said the Cowboys didn't know about the incident AT ALL, which would be proof of our complete incompetence if true. It was all over the news when it happened. It was in all of the papers, it was on ESPN, it was discussed all across the Internet, including here. And nobody from the Cowboys had ever heard about it? That would be utterly ridiculous.
