CowboysZone ULTIMATE Fan
I might have missed something but know one on this board is talking about it....are cowboy fans looking pass this game and already have it in the win column, because as a football fan I think this game will be closer then others think..it would not shock me if the skins play there best game of the season next Monday night..the Cowboys are playing at a very high level right now,if the skins pull off the upset there will be chatter are the skins pulling it together and has the Cowboys gotten full of themselves? Can't wait to watch this game!!! What is the feeling from you guys about this game?

Nobody should overlook or be overconfident about division games; however, there's not much about this game that's exciting to talk about.

It does cause the defense some issues studying a QB that doesn't have much film in with this Offensive Coordinator. It's obvious that a big part of the Cowboys defense this season has been film study. They seemed to know exactly what was coming on most plays especially in the Seattle game.

You know it's bad for the Deadskins when even the most delusional fans from ExtremSkins are picking us to blow them out.

Funny thing is, some are using the prime time game as the excuse instead of giving us the credit.

Every game makes me nervous. Just the way I'm wired.

On paper, everything about this game says 31-13 or some such. But you just never know, especially with a divisional opponent. Good news is they're dinged at numerous positions, not a very good team to begin with, and are on the road with a third-string QB.

It's cliche as it comes, but we've got to not beat ourselves. No major gaffes on special teams, don't lose the turnover battle, and try to avoid giving up deep bombs to Jackson.

I went over to ES to see what they were saying about the game and its like a freaking morgue over there............LOL.................With Colt McCoy at QB, 90% of them are expecting us to beat them like a rented mule.

I really don't expect this game to be very stressful for us. The Skins are in some bad shape right now and McCoy is check down supreme. I was listening to Brian Baldinger today and he was just killing McCoy and how all of his passes are check downs. What shouldn't happen is Garcon or Jackson running after the catch for big gains. If that happens then it could be closer than expected. Otherwise this game isn't going to be much of a challenge for us.

That was the knock on him at Texas and at the NFL level, he has a noodle arm.

He is strictly a short and medium range passer, he cannot threaten a defense deep because his deep ball will float due to lack of arm strength. You cannot be a starting QB in the NFL if you got a weak arm, even if your accuracy is good. Now the opposite is true, you can have just average accuracy, but if you got a cannon for an arm you will make millions in the NFL (see Jay Cutler as an example)

The only worry I have is the speed the foreskins have at WR. They have a bad QB and a mediocre defense.

I agree, what concerns me is that although I think Dolt is a crummy QB, we don't have much film on him and historically we've fared pretty poorly against new QBs.
I also agree that this is one of those times where Washington is really bad, we're really good, so the lesser team plays out of its mind. You can also factor in that it truly is a must-win for Wash, dropping to 2-6 on the season is a death sentence and you might was well start planning for next season. Historically, our best teams have struggled with Washington even when we had the significantly better team. Believe we lost to them once in '92, once in '93, and twice in '95. This definitely has all the signs of a trap game….everyone is pointing to the AZ game, Wash is down their top LB, top DB, and starting their 3rd string QB, we're reading our own press clippings….and I do think Wash comes in revved up and gives us their best shot, as usual.
That said, I do believe that as long as we don't turn the ball over and get dumb, drive-killing penalties, we can control the ball and run it right down their throats like everyone else (including some vastly superior defenses we've done that to thus far). I think if we beat Washington and hold serve against Jax, the AZ game becomes not-terribly important (although I definitely think if we play well we can beat them). Being 8-2 or 9-1 heading to NYG (another definitely winnable game) would be incredible.
Longer term, if Philly, San Fran, Seattle, Green Bay, and Detroit can all pile up some losses we should be cleared hot into the playoffs well before the last week of the season. I don't think there's a team we can't beat, but I'd really prefer NOT to have to go TO Seattle, Philly, or Green Bay during the playoffs, but now I'm just being greedy.

I wouldn't say that. With Arizona sitting at one loss and the Cowboys sitting at one loss, the winner might have the tie-breaker for home-field advantage come the playoffs.

No, I'm not chalking this up as a lock win. Just that if the Cowboys don't give the game away, they'll win it.

agreed, should be a decisive win but if the Cowboys make mistakes then any given Sunday. Washington is sliding but they are a nfl team. don't forget against the lowly Rams the Cowboys found themselves down 21 points.

Us old-timers never take a Skins game for granted. Just go back and check your history to see when they beat us when they had no business beating us, .. and times we beat them when we shouldn't have.

When we ended up 1-15 who do you think we beat? We couldn't beat any other team that year but we found a way to beat the skins.
Once when they were undefeated and we weren't very good we knocked them off.

Who scored twice in the last minute or so to beat us 14-13 in a game that we had dominated?

This game may turn out to be a laugher, .. but I can't think of it that way.

I've seen different. (see bold above)

This game will be like most of the NFC East game. Down to the wire.

Dallas should beat Washington, but, stranger things have happened.
