My problem with Ware even in his hay-days is that he is a quiet, lead-by-example type of player. He rarely (if ever) gets angry, taking it easy most of the time in a win as much as in a loss. When this is your go-to guy on defense who all other players on the defense look up to, this type of demeanor rubs on the whole team and they reflect it on the field.

Remember two years ago when (I believe) Tuck bad mouthed the Cowboys and talked about how much he hates the cowboys, and when Ware was asked his response was what? "He is jealous" , "he wants to be a cowboy" and back then am sure most (if not all) reaction was "Are you kidding me!!!! this is how you respond???"..

Now compare that with Ray Lewis and his fire burns under the whole team when he talks.. To me Ware is RKG but not for leadership role. This D still needs that vocal full of swag "ALWAYS HEALTHY" guy...The closest (and it's not that close to what this D needs) is Hatcher...But I suggest you keep looking...

I wouldn't consider Hatcher any sort of leader either.

He's in full-blown Deion Sanders 'mercenary mode'.

It's all about the next contract for him, getting paid.

"Got my mind on my money and my money on my mind".

He'll be on the first boat out of here come day one of free agency and he and everyone else knows it.

It's about him and his bank account, not this team.

I know it's a business and players want to earn what they can, but there is a classy way to handle things, like Sean Lee did, and there is a classless way, "don't want to put bad film out there".

Hatcher has leg everyone know what he's most concerned about.

Me? I root for the uniform. Don't let the door hit ya!

I think I might be the only one crazy enough to think that he can still play, he just needs some time off. They won't let him rest because they don't have anyone behind him.

I don't think he is worth his salary, so I would definitely work on a Doug Free style pay cut.

I agree.

A pay cut would be my first choice.

Or second choice.

Right after switching back to the 3-4 defense for which he is suited.

ware had 4 sacks in the first 3 games of the year. i guess he has lost it since then. maybe he is just not healthy yet. but given the cap issues i think you have to consider his future. the problem with moving him is then you have another hole to fill and we already need a couple of dt's, so you add to that another de and thats a tall order to fill in one draft

That is what you call a catch 22. The Cowboys have a tough decision to make. JMO but he still have some good football left. Ware needs better players around him. What's worse is he might not command a double team any more but at least he can still beat one-on-one protection. I'd keep him at least one more year. We will know a lot more this time next year.

Romo just got $52 million guaranteed on a $108 million dollar contract extension......................he aint going nowhere until he is 40 with that contract................we cant trade him or release him for at least 4 yrs under his new deal without a mega cap hit.

He aint going anywhere bro.

I highlighted the portion I'm focused on. He recently got that money. We could have traded him before we gave him that big contract. This team isn't going anywhere with Romo. Most saw that. Unfortunately, Jerry Jones and Crew can't.

Is this a joke? Romo was not tradeable because he only had one year left on his contract and then would be an UFA. Two, why would we trade one of the best QBs in the league? We might not make the playoffs, but that's not because of our franchise QB who is having the best season of his career...

Go for it, Stephen.

At least the owner's boy didn't say: "Yeah, we lost, but the players are competitors and they half passion and they bring their game, yada-yada-blatha."

Time that the guys who spend their money for these players start calling them out in public.
I half no problem with that.

Neither is the 1st rounder you'd get for him. And you wouldn't get a 1st for him. You think other teams are that dumb? Al Davis is dead and the Colts already traded their first rounder next year.

I like how players Dallas doesn't want are worth 1st rounders for someone else. Explain that.

Essentially, Dallas has cap-screwed itself into a position where cutting the most productive player over the last decade is widely accepted.

To be quite honest. This team is going nowhere with its currently leadership. I'd rather cut a bunch of players and ensure that Ware retires in the uniform he was drafted into than pretend like 2014 will be different because we BELIEVEEEEEEEEE.......derp, derp, derplieve.

Dallas is screwed because their leadership and coaching sucks. People act like cutting Ware will free up enough money to result in a net positive move. Dallas will lose 3 DL this offseason. What's it going to cost to get a Hatcher-type year from free agency? Spencer? Ware?

Dallas shouldn't cut Ware and anyone who's on board is likely in the same clan that said the salary cap was never a problem in the first place.

Both fools.
Never said we could get a first for him now.

The bottom line is that he is not worth 12.25M. Roughly 2 mil per sack. Paycut or gone.

I'm with you but he was getting carted off the field in that alignment too.

Yes he was. And I'm sure he wouldn't be free of injury with a scheme switch either, but it think it wold reduce some measure of wear and tear.

I'm seeing him break down in the 4-3 like many of us worried about when it was first talked about.

I think we'd get better on-field production from him in the 3-4.

Just finally go and get a true nose tackle.

I love him. Don't get me wrong but the past several years now have been hard to watch.

He has a neuromuscular issue that is getting worse and each season the window of efficacy is shorter and shorter. He lasted 3 games this year.

This is not to say anything about his attitude, work, ethic, or skill. He is simply not worth $13m AAV and we need to better allocate resources moving forward.

New England would probably pick him up , or trade for him , in a heartbeat. He deserves a shot at a ring before he leaves the league.

Wares issue is he does the exact same thing over and over and over... Teams adjust to it he doesnt. He is relying on straight strength, agility and speed. He has that but he is predictable, and predictable means you can prepare for it.

If you get hit in the same spot the same way over and over eventually you will defend that better. He needs to change it up and elevate his game.

Again, we're not winning anything with Romo. He's cursed with this franchise. Not that I don't think he's a very good quarterback. I just don't think he'll win anything with this franchise.

Ware was not really supposed to be that leader you speak of..IMO.

He was a 'tweeter from the get-go..

and the other guys they drafted and signed off the bargain-basement pile..

..we're supposed to be coached up and rise ups and lead.

..one by one they were not able to make a dent and Ware kept getting better.

Be realistic here with not being a fan of this guy.

He's done it all..no complaints..

..I mean he's even been asked to drop into pass coverage for goodness sakes.

It doesn't surprise me he's less than when he started and is being paid like a King.

..that's how this team rolls.

We underpay..then overpay..then we lose them.

I'd rather see him get a ring with Denver or Seattle. New England isn't going there anyways without Gronk.

Ware is getting ripped pretty good on the THE TICKET right now.

"After his talk during the week about how we'll see on Sunday, Demarcus Ware was shut down by a rookie 4th round offensive linemen."

He was getting handled one on one all game long.

Ware is completely DONE, People. He needs to go.
