well, he shut up on it, so i suppose after looking on the list and not finding a way to put ricky ray on there sometime after we picked, he gave it up and took his marbles and went home.
No, that's not it at all. I'm trying not to cause any more "chaos" on this forum anymore.

Let's face reality, guys. It's time to replace Greg Ellis. I admire how he made the switch to LB last season, but it's kind of a myth that he was ever a great player to begin with. To expect him to return to top form after his achilles injury is kind of wishful thinking. He's 31, and that's a major rehab. He needs to be phased out and we should draft his replacement now. He'll have lost a step and we can't afford that. Great guy, but it's time for him to go.
Sadly for Ellis, I agree 100%. I'll go one further and say, when we changed to the 3-4, it was time to trade Ellis then.

But I love the guy, I wish he would step down and become a DLine coach, but that won't happen.

Don't be so dramatic.
This is a discussion board. You created a thread on it. You're welcome to defend your point a view.

Ideally, we'd like you to post your thoughts in other threads not created by you or TheProphet. But if not, that's on you guys.

I understand your point, but you can't just say "everyone picked after him isn't better" and have that excuse Ellis. I think everyone expected a little more from the 8th pick, regardless of what the guys picked after him did.

He's been a solid player, and definitely better than alot of those guys after him, but not the playmaker that was expected. We picked Ware 3 picks later and he's already more dynamic than Ellis has ever been. You might have been discussing something else with philo (I dunno, I can't see it, and I don't read the quotes). If so, ignore me.

maybe, but trying to get some work done between posts while TPS reports are running.

we all expected more from the 8th pick. but to say it's a cowboys and/or ellis problem only is misleading. who got "value" and what they expected out of that draft.

indy
maybe minny.

that's it.

ellis has been a good player, but more in the line of a tony tolbert than a charles haley. to even get that it seems is a good deal.

how many 1st round picks have been at least as much as the hype would have you believe? where we got emmitt i don't think anyone would have said HOF right here baby! not anyone but a homer-deluxe. but to say that you'll get your hype-reward because they're a 1st round pick - it doesn't seem to happen that way. in the end maybe you just get a little bit better of a player than average.

fair to expect? not real sure, no. but is it fair to expect HOF out of every 1st round pick? i think we as fans do it but i don't see a lot of drafts that hold that up.

oops - i got the memo. gonna have to work saturday... damn tps reports.

What's wrong with Carp starting and Ellis coming in in 3rd downs?. He can still rush the passer better then Ricky Ray. BTW, Ellis was a solid player for 10 years, what more could you want from a 1st round pick?.

I think, if you take time to look, I've posted in many threads started by others.

and we think, if you take the time to look, the bulk of your time is spent in your own threads bouncing them back to the top with you and non-profit - henceforce the window twins - having some mutual admiration society meetings within the threads.

highly annoying.

Actually I have... but then I have no life and am on here all day, so I tend to notice those things.

fyi - it's not *you* per se, but this you and profit against the forum mentality that got old. sometimes you're one of the more entertaining ones and other times, the most irritating one.

well, profit has you beat on that. but it does seem you and he came here with the idea you were going to tweak noses for as long as you could get away with it and i, along with many others, just don't see the need for that. entertaining to you - irritating to us.

you can either quit being irritating or you can keep wearing a target - your call.

seems the "pity" one has already started. my my ... lookit at the low attendance to it.

anyone else get the feeling this is going to be one of those long, drawn out "death scenes" where, like in yellowbeard (for a bp example!) it took cheech 5 minutes to die in an overly dramatic fashion?

or how about some good old monty python "i'm not dead yet" posts???

Guys just move along... If you can't post about Ellis, then let it go.

No more need to discuss someone's presence on the board. If they're here, they're here. If they're not, they're not.
