McFadden isn't a little guy. I bet if they pound him in there he would get those nasty yards as well. I think they are trying not to get him hurt which is why they aren't

Like my thread last week, I've seen enough of Randle. He's a complimentary back, not a starter.

What's interesting is that he is a really good complimentary back. You can see why they are thinking he can be the #1 but it does seem his weakness is when the holes close down that he doesn't have the strength to pound the rock

His lower body is little. He can't take a pounding. Obviously.

he is not hard to tackle and he does not wear down a defense. he does not dish out punishment. Don't look at his height and weight and assume he plays big. He has legs like an ostritch. He can be tackle by a CB

That's my issue. If he were 15 lbs heavier it might be different. He's just not special. And we're suppose to be a power run team, but we have finesse backs!

Maybe the way we lost will show this coaching staff that we have to open it up. We can't play not to lose we have to play to win. People are blaming the defense but they were on the field almost the entire second half. They got wore down because of the 3 and outs.

Let's win against Saints next week and get back on track. Hardy, Gregory and Ro should be back after that. Mincey should be healthy as well by then. Can't rely on defense when short handed and played well until half time. We will fight and are far from being done

The sad part is that I think Weeden was only doing what he was told by the coaching staff

At least they are smart enough to know how useless he is then, we got a taste of it on the pass he tried to improvise

I usually agree with defenses getting worn out etc because of lack of offense . But that's BS in this game. Without romo and dez playing they knew they were going to have to step and . They failed and got blown off the line of scrimmage .

I think a lot of our problem is that the other teams know what is coming. We need to disguise and/or mix it up better.

That's a BS excuse. Last year we ran into run defenses and picked up 4-5 yards at will.

Who are you going to "open it up" against? Devin Street?

It would be interesting to go back and watch the game to see what the WR's not named Beasley were doing all game. I don't think we hit one pass to them. If the D took away the running game and the short passes there had to be something that SHOULD have opened up

Started doing that, and they were blanketed.....

I know Cowboys staff is tired of hearing this but you can't have two one-cut backs as your 1-2 punch. Pick who you like better and pair him with christine michael.

Beasley, Williams, Escobar all would have one on one coverage. Send Butler on a steak pattern. We didn't attempt to throw a deep pass. Atlanta stacked the box with 8 and just played the run and short dump passes without fear of going deep. We made it easy for Atlanta to shut us down in the second half. Even if we don't connect at least make them think about it

Same thing with Felix Jones. He was an excellent complimentary back, but when the going gets tough and you need the tough yards, he gets shut down.

Beasley can't run a route longer than 5 yards. Williams is inconsistent, obviously. Who is Butler? The guy on the team for 2 weeks?

Let's that sink in for a moment. He rushed for -5 yards in the 2nd half. How crazy is that?

The offense is part of what killed us today. We emptied our barrel in the first half and fired nothing but blanks in the second half. We couldn't even pick up a 3rd and one. The D didn't play well but got gassed in the second half due to an ineffective offense that can't complete a pass to a WR. At some point we have to start making some plays down the field.
