Put that on an incompetent QB. Couldn't do anything to get the defense out of the 8 man fronts. Then on passing downs, they allowed the underneath dumpoffs to Dunbar.

and that was all weeden was doing and that got figured out pretty durn quick. then again, weeden always looks like he's about to have a runny nose to me, so i'd just as soon roll with someone else for a few games. not sure how soon it's realistic to think cassel could play, but weeden ...

its the curse of cleveland.

all i'm gonna say.

How hard is it to put 8 in the box and Make Weeden beat you? Answer: Not very.

You have to factor in that our receivers got no separation. Also, why no slants? Clearly they were giving up the underneath, since all of the receptions were to Witten and Dunbar.

Randal bashing? Really?

While I'll admit I liked the way DMac looked, did anyone notice how poor the blocking was on Randall's long TD run? They had him stopped for nothing, and he did that basically on his own.

That stuff on 3rd and 1 told me everything that was wrong. They seemed to be rotating by series what back got opportunities to run. Not sure that was the best thing.

Same thing with Felix Jones. He was an excellent complimentary back, but when the going gets tough and you need the tough yards, he gets shut down.

Funny you should mention it. That is who Randall reminds me off, Felix Jones. He ran scared in the second half.

This is why we miss power running like we had from Murray. Once those holes close up, McFadden and Randle are stuck with 1 or 2 yard gains. We need to get Michael in there and see if we can get constant forward progress.

This is delusional thinking.

Once those holes close up nobody is going to run for yards.

2nd half they stacked the box, especially if they knew we wouldn't attack deep, our offense without Romo is one dimensional.

Let's that sink in for a moment. He rushed for -5 yards in the 2nd half. How crazy is that?

Yep, incredible first half. And Murray is on pace to rush for 56 yards this year. LOL

Lets just put to rest the argument over the line or the back. Its the line.

And its also quite obvious that Murray wasnt worth it, that argument is now officially put to bed.

Randle did fine. He probably would've had 150 at halftime if they didn't rotate in DMC in the 2nd quarter. Atlanta made the necessary adjustment at the half and Dallas had no answer.

I thought Randle came out as hot as you can, but what I saw in the 2nd half was a lot of hesitation and stopping, yes Alt was doing a better job but Randle stopped being aggressive. on a 3rd and 1 he gets to the line stops his feet, you can't do that you have to hit the line hard and allow momentum to push the pile. On a couple of outside runs he slows up instead of running hard to the outside, he may not have gotten big yards but he should be able to gain 3 or 4. When a RB starts slowing and hesitating he is dead.

I'm not absolving the offensive line of their obvious struggles, but I saw exactly the reason why I despise running back by committee. Randle was lighting the Falcons up and because the 'script' called for it, he was removed from the game. And when he came back in, he never got that groove back and the running game never looked in rhythm again.

This wasn't the only factor obviously, but I think it was a key contributor to this loss.

It would be interesting to go back and watch the game to see what the WR's not named Beasley were doing all game. I don't think we hit one pass to them. If the D took away the running game and the short passes there had to be something that SHOULD have opened up

I know a lot of guys who can't wait to get the All 22 and see what the receivers were doing.

At the same time our play design with and without Dez is not a vertical scheme anyhow. We live on the short throws to RB's and Witten and the occasional 15-20 yard slant which sets up big plays downfield with Dez and Williams when Tony decides to take a shot. The difference now is we don't have the threat to go downfield and it emboldens corners and safety's to squat and pounce.
