Keep in mind, the Eagles have an extra 2nd round pick. They could very well use it to trade up from 30th to 24/25 if Bijan starts dropping. For that reason, a slight trade-up would not surprise me if he's their No.1 target.
If they use a 2nd rounder to trade up from 30 to 24 for a running back they can have it. I'd prefer it actually.

I'm not afraid of the Eagles having Bijan Robinson. No matter who plays RB for them they will be a threat because they have a great offensive line.

I haven't looked at TE too much in round 1. What are your favorite things about Mayer?
Mayer has that Witten-like ability to break the ankles of DBs but there is no way to explain how he does it.

Byron Jones was really good at covering TEs in the NFL but he couldn't cover Witten in practice.

Mayer and Bijan are the safest picks in this draft.

Mayer does everything right. IMO best overall TE prospect in many of years.

The issue with Mayer, is they’ve been so hype on him for years people seem to have cooled off.

He is going to be Jason Witten in this league. He is practically uncoverable for 5-15 yards. His pro comparison is Jason Witten …

He won’t give you much YAC. But he’s a solid for 8-85-1 TD weekly

I think bijay and mayer are also the two safest picks

I expect Bijay to be long gone before 26; just has too much talent for someone to not grab.

Mayer is a lot like Witten in how he gets things done; he is physically superior so he can do more. I love the fact that he is truly a complete TE.
Those talking about just having a OT in or whatever miss the point of the flexibility he gives you. The D cannot automatically assume its a pass as when Henderson and company are in because they simply are not good blockers. A complete TE allows the OC to play more mind games with the opposing DC. And what Mayer does in the red zone is VERY rare and no other TE in this draft is as good at it as he is. RED ZONE is something you can ALWAYS improve on and should.

I disagree about YAC just for the simple reason he is strong enough to drag people.

Possibly. He averaged 28.8 YAC yards a game (3rd best in this class) and a 0.19 Break tackle/missed tackle per game (also 3rd best)

Interesting yeah Kincaid I'm cool with. Even Mayer. It really just depends on what's there. I'm hoping someone drops we don't expect to drop and this front office has to make a decision. I wonder how tough the decision was for them to go Lamb over Chaisson? Over if they even liked Chaisson to begin with.
After that draft, Jerry verified in an article that Chaisson was the guy they wanted but Lamb was just ranked too highly for them to not take.

So yeah, they liked Chaisson… but it wasn’t a difficult decision to take Lamb for them.

Here are my top 5 picks at 26 if Bijon is not there:

1) Michael Mayer
2) Jaylen Hyatt
3) Trenton Simoson
4) Ocyrus Torrence
5) Jamyr Gibbs

In that order of preference.
Hyatt or Gibbs. The others are not worth the value at one. Hope to trade back in that case.

That's what I was afraid of.....we were a Lamb away from getting Chaisson.

In this case, it certainly seems like that’s true.

Who knows how Chaisson would do here under Quinn though. He certainly had the measurables to be picked in the mid to late first round, and there were many teams that did have him rated there… so it isn’t like Dallas had a crazy evaluation of him or anything.

And Chaisson wouldn’t be the first guy to fail in Jacksonville but play better elsewhere.

The bottom line is that all teams sometimes miss on first round picks. That happens. But going all the way back to Dez, Dallas has been pretty much dead on with their first round picks… Taco notwithstanding.

Chaisson was well regarded in that draft. Definitely dodged a bullet there.
Yeah its nothing against the Cowboys....mocks had him going around where we picked...mostly to us. I got it. A lot of people were upset that we took Lamb and didn't address a "need". Prime example of why you don't do that.

Yeah I remember those mocks a lot of them had him going to us. Wasn't a bad pick I'm just glad Lamb fell. But yeah you never know....could've been better here.
