Jacque Reeves...

Jerry needs to get write Reeves a big check.
He's written him several big checks over the course of 4 years.

I can't help but wonder what you'll think if at the end of this season he is allowed to leave via Free Agency and Anthony Henry is starting in 2008? I wonder, but don't really care. It's not like I give much credence to it.

Let's see, if you're an opposing defensive coordinator, would you want to throw against Reeves, Newman or Henry? I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with being thrown on a lot when you play with several really good corners.

I believe it will take about 2-3 million a year to keep Reeves.

He's already making 850k.

He's a solid corner.

He's got the speed and the technique to play corner in the NFL.

Someone will over pay for him.

Remember what happened to Mario Edwards? He was worse than Reeves and ended getting a pretty decent contract by the Bucs.

2-3 million is cheap for a starting corner with sub 4.4 speed.

Reeves is one of the fastest players on the team.

I won't hold it against him if he leaves for the money.

He's already playing corner in the NFL, so duh he can do it. He's not a starter though. His only starts in his entire 4 year career were due to injury to the actual starters.

You didn't answer my question though. Not that I am surprised.

Reeves is a very average CB if you measure him on a leaguewise basis. He allows far too much cushion to opposing teams' receivers, making shallow completions a certainty. Also, his deep coverage is compromised by the fact that his ball skills are very mediocre. He's a lifer as a backup, at best.

Seriously? Are you two related? Cousins or something? Are you part of his Posse? Reeves is VERY fast, but that is all. He has been lit up so much this season he should be called "smoke". Wow! Everyone that thinks Reeves has been good this year or even "solid" are smoking the ganja weed.:banghead:

I think he's pretty solid, good third corner. Be good to draft another young guy after the first round and give him a couple years behind Reeves and Henry.

What does it mean when some guys on here say he's a "solid corner"?

He's the human first down machine. Be honest - if it's 3rd and 11, and they run any pattern in front of Reeves, is there any hope he'll make the play? The only chance we have is that the QB throws a bad pass or the receiver falls down, as in his only interception.

I don't care if you run a sub 3.4 40, if you can't make a play you can't make a play. Wouldn't you think someone who is targeted more than any other CB would have a chance to make a bunch of plays?

Not liquid or gas.

He's been serviceable. He's the guy that teams target, but outside of the first two weeks he hasn't been horrible. I kind of feel for him because he has truly been a serviceable CB (there are far, far worse CB's in the league) but it seems like all somebody has to do is point out that he's the most targeted CB in the league and everybody assumes he's awful. Times targeted is just a small part of determining the quality of a CB. It's kind of like judging a RB soley on rushing yards, when there's things like YPC and TD's to consider.

YAKUZA
i thought he was pretty horrible the skins. moss tore him apart. but i realy like him as the nickel back.

Out of that percentage, how many of those passes were completed, that should also the highest percentage in the league, but Hey it not like he was a first round pick, and the sad part is the Cowboys never tried to improve with a quality back up.
We all know now this will be addressed

serviceable = needs to be replaced.

I will be disappointed if Reeves is still on the team next year.
