Jags making a push for Murray?

I don't think Murray is a crier, I just think like most he's trying to set up his family for generations to come. And a ton of these guys come from nothing,
imagine all the sudden you get offered money you couldn't even dream of?

id also wanna play a game to win. thats half the battle too. why get yourself all beat up physically and emotionally to constantly lose? maybe its just me.

i hope demarco stays for a little less. i want this team to win together. i know it can't always be a storybook tale, but ******, they and we deserve it.

I agree.

By that criteria if I were him I would take even less to go to Indy. Romo is likely gone before Murray's contract is up here, whereas Luck will no doubt be a top QB his entire tenure there.

Not, just retire. He has done nothing to earn a retire as Cowboys privilege.
It's easy to sit here and say, yeah I would play for a few mil less. When it isn't a reality in our lives. You may be one in very few that would do that, I don't know. But I think most that say it would only say it until the check was in their laps.

Hasn't Murray stated that if the Cowboys come relatively close to the highest bidder of another team, that he'd stay in Dallas with no second thoughts?

I understand players say whatever to the media, but I always got the feeling Murray is a pretty passionate player. He beat himself up over fumbles and I saw him flipping out on the sidelines a time or two when another player made a mistake (Even to Romo once). So, I do think that Murray wants to stay in Dallas and get a Super Bowl.

We'll see soon enough though.

True but at 27, he's probably thinking he won't be playing for ever either.

i would understand indy.

He did. But we don't what "close" is yet.

Luck is an amazing player that is going to be held back due to the organization inability to fix holes elsewhere. They got lucky (No pun intended) to stink it up the year Luck entered the draft. Indy isn't going anywhere until the front office cleans up the mess.

i just hope murray doesn't receive an offer then simply take it without giving the cowboys a chance to talk to him. if so, then public enemy #1.

I think what teams are undervaluing with Murray is the fact that he's a 3 down player along with being a great receiver. We can talk about all the RBs coming out of college, but you don't find RBs like Murray every year. Is he AP? No, AP is a once in a generation kinda player. Is he on McCoy's level? Yes. A different kind of RB, but players that give you the same production (At least, the McCoy of the past).

There's been a lot of dissing Murray on here lately, which to me, is absolutely ridiculous. This guy is a great RB, the "vision" in the open field is a fair criticism, I guess, but he makes up for it for gaining so many yards after contact or creating plays out of nothing. Murray, without a doubt, deserves his money and had a year very few RBs ever have. You can say the offensive line did it, but I can point to you where Murray made the offensive line look better, along with Romo in the passing game. Our offensive line was far from perfect last year, even if they were really good as a unit.

If we give Murray big money to stay here, so be it. He doesn't make our team worse, that's for sure.

His agent & wife will quickly set him straight. This will be a lifetime decision for him.

Dallas has had FOREVER to make a strong offer to Murray. Not questioning the Cowboys plan but the reality is they weren't serious about retaining him with a legit offer before free agency. Now that free agency is upon us, you leave yourself open to losing that player at any moment whether the player has said he'll give you a chance to counter or not. I would not blame Murray one bit if he were blown away by an offer and/or presentation and immediately commits regardless of what team it may be.

Since when were teams allowed to negotiate with players before the start of FA?

Is this the NBA now?

What the frig are the Generics doing here? You suck Jax! Build from the draft. Makes zero sense if they sign Murray and vice versa.

They have a ton of cap room. Why doesn't it make sense?

To they point where they may have trouble reaching the cap floor if they continue losing out on FA's. They may have to overpay Murray by default.

The other team isn't stupid. Usually the deal is good here and now type. They won't let you go shop their deal. Probably won't let your message or call someone while you are in the room. Either sign or bye.
