Jacksonville is not low rent!

It is a great factory town. A great grease trap. I am from Florida, but Jax is the roach Motel.
Full of red necks and *******es!

I lived there for a brief period. Jacksonville Beach is awesome I had plenty of good times there. But yeah the rest of that city is pretty much the way you describe it.

If your comments were directed at K19, there was no way for me to tell. You quoted my little post, asked if I was being sarcastic and then went on with your rant. Next time, direct your angst more clearly to the one intended or better yet...simply leave me out of it!

Uhh, Silverstar, if you want to be left out, then don't ambiguously chime in. I didn't solely ask if you were sarcastic. I questioned if you were sincere as well. I really didn't know what to make of your cryptic comment. Angst implies anxiety and is derived from the German word for fear. Neither of these emotions are afflicting me relative to the Jacksonville comments or posts.

Annoyance sums it up best from the standpoint that I live in Jacksonville which happens to be an up and coming city with a respectable Cowboy fan base, despite the presence of the Jaguars.

To put things in perspective, I am not in anguish, feel victimized or am angry with anyone. I am not the one frothing at the keyboard and resorting to generating bolded declarative sentence fragments.

This is my final commentary with you on the matter, but nevertheless I invite you do get the last word in, out of concern that you may implode otherwise.

cowboyed, I'll chime in a little bit in J'ville's defense. You should ignore the knuckleheads on this type of subject. It's like teaching pigs to sing.

I'm a Texan living in Florida and I've seen pretty much all of Florida's cities (haven't spent much time in Pensacola). Florida has a curious mix because, while a southern state, most of Florida isn't southern at all. From what I have seen, Jacksonville is the most southern, and the most livable, of Florida's cities. Miami (and the rest of that huge mess in SE Florida), Tampa, and Orlando have more of the things that make a city fun to visit but less of the things that make a city a good place to live.

One last point. I like living in Florida compared to other places I have lived (Maryland and New Hampshire). I make a really good living here. But I miss Texas.

Wow.. never expected to find an argument over the quality of the city of Jacksonville in this thread.

Perhaps a simple: "I've lived there and I didn't think it was a bad city at all" would have sufficed... rather than a lengthy post that looks like it was copied from a Jacksonville tourism brochure.
