Godspeed and good Luck to Jerome -- sure do hope he gets the job. Can't help but think any change at all might well be for the best (for us, that is.)

And before him was Campo, and then Zimmer, etc, etc. Maybe we just suck at finding corners?

What's it going to be then, eh?

Jerry has no cap limit on coaches...

I just do not know about where Lovie Smith goes from here. I don't think he deserved to get fired. I know what I would do if I were him, but he probably won't do it.

Yeah, basically. I also doubt he gets a HC gig anywhere. He could probably go be a DC somewhere, but he'd basically be assistant DC if he was to come here and work with his BFF Rod. Money, job security, and working with an old acquaintance can be pretty strong motivators.

Depends on his money situation. Getting fired as a head coach two years into a contract is not that bad of a deal. It is not like he's going to starve.

I didn't think he deserved to be fired either. That one kind of shocked me.
But I doubt he gets a HC job, or even a DC job because of it. At least his name has not been popping up about any, that I seen.
So it may make sense for him to take a few years in a reduced role, collect his thoughts, show what he can do with this mess here, then will get offers.

Plus if he can straighten out this mess of a secondary, he gets back on track in a few years, or is in line to take over here if need be.

Yeah he could sit back, collect his money, take a year off, be an analyst on one the the NFL shows.
Wait it out until the following season and see what he wants to do then.

I'm very interested to see who replaces Henderson if he leaves. When we got Henderson he was considered one of the best defensive back coaches in the game. Clearly, once Ryan left his style didn't fit. Let's hope it's not another square peg in a round hole just to get a name in here hiring--otherwise known as the Jerry Special.

Funny you say that because Henderson has never felt like a fit. Just a necessary piece, because, well, he was under contract

All the HC positions are filled, I believe. So Lovie has 2 choices: sit the year out and wait for an opening next year. Or take a lesser position, possibly in Dallas.

I think he sits the year out. But I have no inside information on that.
