Twitter: Jakar Hamilton moved up?

Goodbye vet safety, hello UDFA practice squad player? Hmmmm.

Good catch, OP.

Well, bold move on the Cowboys part. Presumably, if they're making this move, this guy's also looking at getting some PT. Either on Teams or in some of the defensive packages. Interesting.

He wrote that he "got moved"... so I guess it's also possible that another team picked him up?

It's probably us though, considering the timing with the Allen move.

Very well then I like this move, he could be a good ST guy and eventually a good backup.

Yea I mean it sounds like he got "moved" as in to another team? That's how i'd take it but you never know with Twitter. Probably meant moved up but hard to tell.

I would imagine he means to the Cowboys 53 roster.

His twitter line under his twitter handle still reads...

Free safety for Dallas Cowboys
still tippin down on 84s

I thought for sure they released allen to bring in another dl player but I guess thatd make too much sense.

Wouldn't it make more sense to bring in another safety if you just got rid of one lol?

I thought Will Allen being cut also meant we were looking at a vet linemen. But I wouldn't say it makes more sense then getting rid of a safety and replacing him with potentially a better one.

We often talk about the need to develop talent, but can't happen if spots don't open up. Trial by fire...worked with Selvie. If this move happens, lets hope it works as well.

Yes. :)

Cowboys want to see young safeties, including Heath, Garrett says after release of Will Allen
Jason Garrett said the Cowboys want to see more of their young safeties, so that was one reason for cutting veteran Will Allen.

“J.J. Wilcox has been our starter for the last couple of weeks, and Jeff Heath has been a guy who has really emerged throughout training camp and the early part of this sason, so we want to give those guys an opportunity to play,” Garrett said Wednesday.

“We still have a veteran back there in Danny McCray, who has played for us in the past,” Garrett said. “We felt like a combination of all those things, trying to give those guys an opportunity, we felt it was the right time to do this.”

No word on Hamilton, yet.

we are one draft focused solely on the dline away from having a very youthful defense.

Hamilton was taken off the scout team this morning (per Dallas Cowboys.com) and was working with the "ones" on special teams. But I wonder what the "Pending Durant's health" is all about. Is Durant going on IR? Will there be two open roster spots; since Hamilton would take Will Allen's? I'm confused.
