When is Jake Butt expected to be able to play? He is a complete te. He is a guy that I would like to see on the Cowboys.

Sorry, I meant to put this in the draft zone.

Simple ACL repair I believe so probably a 8-10 month recovery period. Worst case scenario is a redshirt year.

I think Butt played 6 months after a torn ACL before
That would seem to be exceedingly quick, but the recovery times are getting faster. I would still assume 8-10 months when factoring in his draft status though. Especially since he will miss so many offseason activities and possibly TC.

I'll take one.

With Dak and Zeke they are more important than ever and Witten can't do much vertically to take pressure off the wideouts.

If we do I hope like hell he's the one to replace witten and they don't waste another pick. Love witten just know he's not playing much longer.

I'm fully on-board with giving Dak a young TE he can grow with (ala Romo & Witten); every young QB needs a good safety valve.

I like Jake (Butt) but taking him in the 2nd round is too rich for me when he's coming off an injury. We need our 2nd rounder to be an instant contributor. That said, I think folks are underselling Butt as an athlete. He's 10x more athletic than Witten in terms of catch radius and YAC.

Much rather have the kid out of Miami. I want someone with elite talent running down the field. J Butt looks like Witten looks now, we need mad skills player to go with Dak and Zeke.
The kid out of Miami hasn't played the true te position. He has played out wide and doesn't block. Butt fits the Cowboys offense.

Butt is not all that as a blocker either+ he's slower that Witten at this point.
To get Njoku would have to take him at 28 and I think that it would be a risky pick. They could get Butt later in the draft and he would be a good bet to be a solid starter.
