The man can block and what has stood out as a TE is his ability to pile up yards after the catch . That spin move allowing his reception to go for 20 plus was impressive . His hurdle then running over a Giant Thanksgiving was a Ray Chester Play .

Couple him with Hendershot plus a McKeon third TE and you can allow Schultz to walk in the off-season possibly spend money on veteran FA corner .
Yes nice to have soem young TES that can offset saving money by releasing schultz. I like Schultz, hes solid payer but cant afford everyone.

I have to admit, I was envious watching some of those plays Philly’s Dallas Gobert was making. I was thinking to myself when we’re going to have a tight end like that and I think the only shot is Ferguson or Hendershot. Especially Fergy, with limited opportunities, he has put on some moves out there. Witten didn’t light it up his first year either, but showed signs of greatness. I hope that’s what we have in Ferguson too.

Sometimes these young guys just need a shot to get more playing time. Bland is a perfect example. Probably wouldn’t even be touching the field if everyone had stayed healthy.

I find the recliner GM's to be hysterical in their assessments of a player because he wanted a raise.

What happens next year, I have no clue. But am a huge Schultz fan. He seems to come up big when the team needs him. I see a lot of similarities with Witten. He is not Witten, but then most here forget how atrocious Witten was at blocking. And toward the end of his career he was a penalty machine at pre-snap movement.

Loved me some Witten. Love me some Schultz.

We usually agree but not here
The upgrade from Ferguson/Hendershot to Schultz is not worth the top 5 TE dollars he will demand
Schultz should be allowed to walk

They are gonna have to make a lot of decisions, and you can't sign everyone. LVE, Wilson, Pollard, and Schultz this year. CD and Diggs are next year. With Steele's injury, Tyron is probably safe. Between Zeke and Pollard, they are gonna have to pick one. After all that, Parsons is gonna come up.

i still remember the time I was upset that our FO telegraphed their liking so much that Philly traded ahead of us to take him and many idiots on this board kept saying that Connor Williams (who we picked) was a better player LOL

Dak def has some chemistry with Schultz that you hate to lose but if Fergy and Hendo improve on their rookie campaigns we should be fine. Athletically I don’t see much difference, seems like the difference is mostly related to finding the gaps in coverages. They both might already be better blockers though.

I think drafting a stud TE woul add something we lack right now. Schultz is a good reliable TE with a feeling for the game. He is not a powerful blocker and you see that weakness a few times every game. Supposed to be a great TE draft this year. Should be able to find someone cheap to replace him.

Let's just embrace THIS season first.

Cowboys have 3 legit TE right now who can help team win games in postseason.

Merry Christmas.

He can break Tackles unlike Schultz who actually just fell down yesterday without anyone near him for 5 yards.

In addition to Fergshot the amount of promising TEs in this draft should have Shultz on the way out. Actually, McClay could find a guy to come in and start over Fergshot.

Haha. Shultz caught the ball and looked for a soft spot to land, so he can take that to the offseason and land on another team. That was ridiculous.

I appreciate Shultz game, wanted him to be a Cowboy pre-draft and all of that. However, now it's time to move on after the season. Shultz is a good player tho.

This youngster was on fire when Rush was leading this offense, but when Prescot came back he's had his sites on Schultz most of the time. Prescot needs to start looking for the other two TEs because they can play.

There isn't a TE on this roster that would prevent me from drafting Michael Mayer if he's still on the board.
