Jake Ferguson said he texted Dak after Sunday night’s game: “I’m with you til the wheels fall off.”

Man, this is bad, like really bad.

Why the hell is there even a need for Ferg to do this in the first place?

Why does a TE feel the need to publicly support his QB, shouldnt it go without saying that everybody on the team supports the QB?

Unless they donto_O
He's just a kid. 2nd year. Not used to this media storm. Trying to do what is right. He's hungry and wants to be an NFL starter.

The "team" is not "Dak".

That's where some of ya'll have a hard time. At least you outed yourself.
So, just Dak is on your hit list? Surprising

And, as for Dak specifically, i root for the team and no matter who is under center, I’m hoping they have a great game.

My issue with posters who slag him relentlessly is that they never have a reasonable suggestion on how to go from there.

I think tanking is a silly suggestion and completely unrealistic considering that no matter who is QB, this team is too good to end up in the bottom 10, let alone the absolute bottom.

there’s no mystery here. We move on from him the way EVERY team has moved on from a failing quarterback. Either draft or free agency. He’s only got 1 year left on his contract

It took the Jets just a few months to move on from Zack Wilson by getting Rodgers and he was a first rounder selected to move on from Sam Darnold. It Happens all the time. This is just one example and they didn’t have to blow up the whole roster to do it.

We just need a “GM” that can admit a mistake and use draft capital to move up and get the next franchise QB

Why do some Cowboys fans seem to think this is impossible? It’s an excuse to keep the status quo

For me, it's always been about the better replacement. Only one I've seen recently was Aaron Rodgers, and not sure they could make it work financially or if Rodgers even wanted to play for his old coach again.

We get Cousins, Tannehill and the other high rated free agents next year. It's Dak Part II. First rounder will cost a lot, and probably only 50/50 odds they pan out at most. There's a reason Jerry is kissing his lucky stars when a guy like Romo or Dak looks like they may pan out. It is TOUGH and EXPENSIVE to find a great QB.

Fans are high on Lance, but I'm not. He just got kicked off the best team in football for a young QB. To me, Fields is also Dak Part II at best, with a stronger arm, and will come out the gate making worse decisions. But hope I'm wrong.

Why's that surprising?

He plays the most important position on the team, he takes up the most cap therefore gets the most criticism, and more so than any other position in sports contributes to the win/loss of the game which is why QBs take up the most cap.

Forgive me for not slagging about the slot receiver or LG more.

No to mention these same sycophants who like to talk about the "team" after a game like SF, do nothing but slobber all over Dak after every victory

"It's a team game" only seems to apply in certain circumstances. Dak gets all of the credit and little if any of the blame, in their world

“I’m with you til the wheels fall off”….that quote is as if he expects the wheels to fall off at some point.
Yea really odd, if the wheels fall off does that mean he’s not with Dak anymore? Any way you read it the text is a really bad look and it appears that some players are struggling to support Dak behind closed doors, if it starts being public knowledge from players the team is in big trouble. Hopefully it’s a bump in the road

Exactly.

It works both ways.

If you're going to praise him when the defense scores more TDs than him and we win 40-0 then you best be able to handle the criticism when he plays horrible and we lose.

It’s very hard on Dak playing with so many jags he’s only one guy the other 52 have to contribute more. LOL

When I mention Rodgers it was more from an example standpoint. The model that has yielded positive results is the one where a rookie QB contract allows a team to build a dominant roster around it.

There may be a half dozen qbs in the next draft that may fit that bill and we only have a few areas that need to be shored up. It’s never a sure thing and there is an element of gamble but we have to move on at some point . A couple more dogs on the defensive line and a few upgrades on offense can get us over the hump.

not all the problems are the fault of #4 but his level of play hasn’t made up for the other shortcoming and his salary DEMANDS that he can.

You've been given the reasonable suggestions, you just choose to claim otherwise for purposes of your argument.

I hear you and I'm on your side. There is a better option than Dak. And I'm tired of this team going with low draft pick surprises. A Brady or Purdy is one in a million. The rest, you get what you pay for.

But just pointing out how hard it is to do. Easier said than done. A lot of fans act like NFL is playing Madden or something. As if it's super easy to trade for a HOF QB or high 1st round pick, and then insert a young talented QB who has no learning curve that will cripple the rest of your team.

Hopefully Lance works out because he's about the best we can afford, unless Cowboys suddenly tank the season and end up with a high pick. I admire those teams that said %*#$3 it and went for Manning, Rodgers or Brady in their late years.

That's the way to do it if the window is short. Rookies are so hard to predict. Look at the Panthers and Texans this year. To a tee, everyone said Panthers had the guy more NFL ready, and Texans were a QB project - but it has worked out exactly the opposite.

There are a lot of teams out there stuck with their own Dak, i.e. a disappointing franchise QB, through all types of methods used to get that QB. Giants with D. Jones, Vikings with Cousins, Patriots with M. Jones, Browns with Watson, Broncos with Wilson, the list goes on......

Probably in the best position we can be right now which is a raw QB that we are trying to groom who at least has 2nd round talent. (according to the Cowboys draft boards)

Well.

Ferguson is a certified loser too it seems.

Thanks for outing yourself.
Of course he’s going to say that to keep the peace w/ his QB, but on the inside, he has got to be thinking “this guy stinks and he’s making 40-50 million a year, wow!”Also, we know what happens if you bad mouth Dakky Pooh. You wind up gone.

I'm guessing Jake is going into politics when his playing career is over.
