Switching TEs in and out would be a huge mistake. A huge part of the passing game is developing chemistry between the QB and the WRs.
We played multiple TEs very often when we had a clear #1. It's going to be even more now

I would be happy with Schultz play except running the correct routes….

I think all 3 TE's will do just fine. And MM already has a plan for all of them.

Close. I feel Ferguson is already a better blocker and is more agile.
He's not.

Schultz blew a couple blocks and so got a bad reputation. He is a competent blocker, same as Fergie.

Their agility is close, but man, it was fun to watch Schultz's agility in YAC. Dude looked like he was playing twister out there. Most fans didn't notice because they were too busy hating on him, which was ridiculous.

And here's the biggie. Schultz was a master at creating separation. We have no idea if Fergie can consistently get open. I know, I know, we THINK he can, but that is far from the doing.

unless who gets hurt, Ferguson? Does he have some injury history I am unaware of?
Nope, didn't say he did. I was merely stating that only injury will keep him from being the primary TE on this team. (You're looking for contentiousness here!!!!!!!!!)

Schultz was a 4th rd pick and exceeded every possible expectation. How anyone could bash on the guy is unbelievable to me. If all of our picks surpassed expectations like he did, wed be ecstatic.

He’s underrated too. I’ll say he's better today than Shultz ever was or will be. And Shultz was pretty good.
I tend to disagree a little I think right now Ferguson is Dalton Schultz but with more upside.. Dalton is a very good player just not a great player and right now Ferguson is at schultz's level it took Dalton four years or more to become that.. So Ferguson with more upside says he's going to be better yes barring any injuries or setbacks..

No I see Schultz is a very good player he just wasn't a great player nothing wowed you he wasn't special but yes he was steady but it took him over four years to get to there and we think Ferguson right now is already at that level so he has more upside but I don't know what the other guy said because I have him on ignore

I think the TE position is going to be different in MM's scheme then it was in the old system. Not sure if it means more productivity in the team's passing attack.

What?

How in the world is Witten continuously underrated on this board? You guys are nuts. HOF TE, and we're comparing him to a pretty good TE. Ick.
If Deuce is now the next Sproles in waiting, it’s not that much of a reach for Ferguson to be the next Witten…..it’s just par for the course here

Waiting for something to actually happen is considered negativity here , while delusion-ally overstating every player is considered virtuous …….

I think we’re all ready for some real football!
You speak the truth Rock. The nation is ready for this season to start and what a way to start it off with the Lions beating KC. Excellent football. The chiefs will probably run off 10 straight wins.

I'm hoping Jake Ferguson surpasses whatever Jason Witten had to offer and more. Now that would really be special.
I just hope he can speak like he hasn't been hit in the head with a hammer everyday for the past 47 years

Ouch! That must really hurt . . .:omg: I'll be satisfied if his football skills are as good as they seem to be.
