If Hurts doesn’t play the rest of the season he’ll be rusty for the playoffs. Philly could end up doing something that’s never been done, winning two Super Bowls with backup QBs it Hurts ends up being done for the season.
Imagine the NFC Championship Game is the battle of the backup QBs. 2022 will be the year of the backup lol.

Running QBs always get hurt sooner or later. The pros hit a lot harder in college and it'll definitely take its toll on their body.
Im absolutely amazed that Giants Daniel Jones hasn't sustained some type of injury to limit his time. He's a part of their run game, runs more than Hurts does. Maybe the Giants think he's expendable. whatever.

That and enjoying the fact that by every metric the Cowboys have been a more successful franchise than the Eagles.

Bathe in it, puke.

You guys are still in it this year…why resort to this strategy, Risen? You are so much better than this…or I thought so

I was hoping we could powerbomb him on his head Christmas Eve.
I'll second that.

I hope he plays. The Boys had this game circled for several weeks. They need to squash Philly at their best to establish dominance in the division, silence the critics and all the Eagles hype at least for a minute, and do it for their own confidence heading into the playoffs.

Before becoming aware of the Hurts news I felt strongly that the eagles did not really care too much about this game. It may be important to us but it isn't to them. Had we won yesterday things would be different, but we didn't. If philly looked at this as a critical game Hurts would be 100% playing. They don't. Hurts is good to go but they are going to rest him and give him some much needed down time. The eagles game plan will resemble a preseason game plan. All vanilla. They won't show us anything in the event we squeak through the WC round and face them again. Then we will see the real eagles. This Hurts injury is 90% strategic. This game with philly may seem like our Superbowl but to them it is just another game. One more win by them and they have hit their regular season goals. Hurts is fine, we are being played by them again.

I think that Hurts is hurt badly and will miss more than 1 game and maybe 4 games or more.

Yep. Running quarterbacks get injured more than pocket quarterbacks. Its just a matter of time. Running backs take a beating, too, but they are usually platooned. And you usually have like 3 of 'em.

This isn’t actually true based on some analysis people have done. The first found a few things including:

Observation No. 1: QBs that ran most were not injured most.

Observation No. 2: QBs that ran most were injured less than the NFL QB average (red line).

Observation No. 3: QBs that ran least were injured least.

Observation No. 4: There wasn’t a direct correlation between running and injuries.

https://www.filmstudybaltimore.com/new-study-quarterbacks-that-run-most-are-not-injured-most/

QBs get injured at the highest rate while in the pocket taking sacks.

designed runs 0.64%, scrambles 0.87%, sacks 1.4%, and knockdowns are 1.56%

Those are from this:

It makes sense when you consider most of the time while running QBs will see the hit coming.

They still have something to play for. Not buying that this is strategic.

There is actually a benefit to them to lose
Forces us to likely play the 49ers or Tom Brady
No team wants to play a division rival when they can play a team that hasn’t seen them twice and let their rival play teams they really don’t want to

Heard on the local radio sounds like they plan on resting several key starters

This is how he avoids acknowledging that since the Cowboys started in 1960 they have been in every way more successful than the Eagles.

Better record overall. Head to head. Division titles. Playoff wins. Super Bowl appearances. Titles.

You might want to talk down to someone actually beneath you. I'm sure the Lions have a fan forum.

I think players around your knees in the pocket, helmets hitting your hands, your own linemen fall on you is just as risky as running if you run smart. When those QB’s try to be RB’s they increase the risk. Running and sliding or getting out of. Kinda is not all that risky

Wouldn't doubt it. They don't consider this a critical game. Beating us is not the highlight of their season. One more win and they have met their regular season goals. They will give the NO game a full effort since they have the Saint's 1st round pick.

Why are you here? Don’t you have some fake tough guy stuff to do? Or maybe you need to take your lunchpail down to the construction site and have a bologna sandwich since you’re so blue collar and all.

Risen, that rings pretty hollow given that half the people on this board weren’t alive the last time the Cowboys won anything…Let’s not get too cocky…
