Jalen Ramsey Tears Meniscus

The integrity of the tibial plateau has been good since high school, so that specific problem area which required microfracture should still be ok, considering he did not sustain a collision or a blow that would traumatize that surface. However, the meniscus is much more vulnerable in anyone's knee, and can be torn loose just on a plant-and-cut move.

That being said, it would be prudent for the owners of his contract to assure the viability of his articular cartilage, giving them peace of mind that that he'll be cleared for normal workouts in just a few weeks.

Just having his previous injury should have devalued him a bit from the start, but the meniscus tear will be removed and will not continue to be a problem.

From the tweets above, sounds like it might be an injury similar to Jack's where they stitch it rather than just being a simple trim.

pretty interesting, that not one word was mentioned about Ramsey having micro fracture surgery in the past, especially noone on the board knew it....that's rare.

I can go with that. I don't want to say everything is a matter of PEDs and steroids, but something is different.
We used to rip and run, play sports, jump out of two story windows, and we never so much as pulled a hamstring.

So it's kind of hard for me to relate to the cut-and-tear situations I read so frequently today.

Nkemdiche fell out of a second story window and was relatively unharmed ;)

You like never ran at nearly the speed Ramsey does, let alone cut at that speed.

This injury isnt major and quite common. 1 to 3 month recovery time dependent on the severity, he should be ready by the season opener. It just hurts to miss the practice time for a rookie.

It was mentioned, I'm not positive on this board or not. I think the only way to search is through google. I found out about a week before the draft.

I've had the same injury. Ramsey will be fine. Outpatient scoping of his knee and he'll be 100% in no time.

not surprising -- he had micro-fracture surgery in high school--too bad; this could just be a sign of his knee deteriorating

The sole proof of previous micro fracture was an article stating that a doctor told him he would need it. I have seen nothing indicated he actually had the procedure.
