I've had the same injury. Ramsey will be fine. Outpatient scoping of his knee and he'll be 100% in no time.

Remember, not all meniscus tears are the same. A tear that they trim is a very short term injury recovery. The surgery Jack had (and actually one of my son's high school wrestling teammates just had), has a 4 to 6 month recovery. I don't know if Jack has been 100% released from his surgery.

pretty interesting, that not one word was mentioned about Ramsey having micro fracture surgery in the past, especially noone on the board knew it....that's rare.

I believe it was mentioned before, but nobody wanted to hear it.

1) it's laughable people think they expected this because of something that happened in high school

2) it's laughable people are happy we didn't take him like the same thing would happen with any team

3) 7 pages. (Shaking head)

1. Not really. I'm a Lakers fan and our 2014 draft pick Randle had a HS injury and ended up with a screw in his foot which later on needed to be corrected. A growing athlete in the peak of their HS career with an injury can definitely affect their bones later. Imagine the amount of not only growth in their bones that happen from HS to the pros but also the amount of weight and mass they add. Well Randle breaks his leg in his first action as a pro in the season of 2014.

He said the screw never gave him problems but the break was due to not alot of contact and the lower part of the tibia. I never really looked for a report whether both were connected but I could only assume in a growing man and an athlete at that would have problems down the line if it wasn't handled correctly during surgery and post surgery. (Let's emphasize HS though because back then who was there to tell us anything? Also, add in the amount of money and resources it takes or is available for a normal person to heal from an injury compared to a paid athlete).

2. Freak accidents are freak accidents and why we never want to be put into that situation. Sad for him but glad and hoping it doesn't happen to us.

3. Big debate still ongoing between the right pick so not that surprised. Now we all can concentrate on our guy for a moment and not which player was more worth it.

Didn't Ramsey just have a small tear? If so he should be fine.

It's the location of the tear. Some are in areas where there is blood flow and stitching the tear up is better than cutting the damage piece off. You don't grow meniscus back. Once it is gone, it is gone, so the goal if possible is to repair and save the meniscus. If that can't be done, and there are some areas that they would never try to stitch, then you trim it and the recovery is short.

Here is an article I posted back when they were talking about Jack's meniscus injury and why it was taking so long to recover.

Good to see he will probably only be missing a month. Will still have a lot of time in TC to get ready for the regular season.

Perhaps you missed where I said I've had this same injury. Don't you think my Dr. told me every word about a torn meniscus that you are repeating now? Thank you for the information but you are preaching to the choir.
