So, starting from scratch with new players in key positions every year is what you think gives a team its best chance? That makes no sense. It's not even possible to do that. You can't sign a fresh batch of high quality players to one year contracts every year. You have to make commitments and build on them and try to contend every year. Your way does not allow for contending every year.
never said you start each year with new players at key positions, but you do lose key pieces every year. so you're searching every year to fill voids, you might as well add the best you can when you can. its why they
went after Adams last season, and if the Jets was serious about trading him, they would've pulled the trigger even knowing that Prescott and Amari needed theirs, after Zeke and Lawerence got theirs.
Also, with the contracts you have to pay a good QB and good players in General, how long do you think you're keeping a contender together. Not everyone can do it like New England did it with Brady who always took less for the team.
