The question is really do you overpay a player at a more valuable position. Or do you pay market value for the best player at a less valueable positionThere seems to be the possibility to land Jamal Adams... if we do, we will have to pay him the big money.. Should we have paid Byron Jones and not make the trade for Jamal Adams? Seems like we are just spinning our wheels..
Totally different players. BJ31 was a slightly above average safety. There seems to be the possibility to land Jamal Adams... if we do, we will have to pay him the big money.. Should we have paid Byron Jones and not make the trade for Jamal Adams? Seems like we are just spinning our wheels..
Not that simple.Neither. Just draft a safety.
I find it funny that people always are ok, with giving up draft picks and agree to pay a player, like when we did cooper, then when time comes to pay them, they all complain that we should move on, most would also be opposed to paying our own players that we drafted, but somehow, its ok to give up draft picks and reup their contracts...I call that lose-lose situation....draft picks are important, they are critical. they are the way you build a winning team....now, these pundits think we are one good safety away from dominance (not sure how) and we should give up a 1st, 3rd, plus player and give a big contract.....and these same pundits will turn on him just like they did on cooper, zeke and Dak…..There seems to be the possibility to land Jamal Adams... if we do, we will have to pay him the big money.. Should we have paid Byron Jones and not make the trade for Jamal Adams? Seems like we are just spinning our wheels..
The issue there is that other team's will value him as well and future picks hurt everyone less to give up.Anyone who comments here that Adams wouldnt make a difference hasn't seen him play much.
He is an absolute force back there, and WR KNOW he is there.
He is a leader also...something Dallas does not have much of, if any.
That all said, I still maintain they arent going to move him for only 17, nor do I think they should part with more.
He can be had when he is holding out of camp for next years #1, when the comp picks will ease that loss a bit.
Adams has 12 sacks, 273 tackles, 6 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries and 2 INT in 3 seasons.Adam's is a box safety. I don't understand the love affair some of you guys have with him. Some say he's a playmaker. Really? With something like three int's and four forced fumbles for his career. I don't think so.
I'd rather we save the money and picks by re-signing Ha-Ha to play SS for years to come.
Just my opinion and opinions vary.
Came in to say the same thing.Neither
I’d pay the guy that makes plays and can elevate the defense. Hint: it ain’t Byron
