Jamarcus really let himself go...

Hey, he may not be able to avoid the rush. But man... he is going to be hard to bring down.

The picture is from a game during last season, and he never looked like that. The image is doctor'd. Is he really up to 330 or is all this speculation? Because all reports I've read about Russell being overweight are dated 2008.

Rumors are that he porked up but no one has any recent photos.....

Doesn't matter if the guy came into camp in shape. He can't play. He sucks. In shape, out of shape, doesn't matter.

The starter Thanksgiving day against us?

I doubt it. JaMarcus will be fighting for his job and that TurDucken.

This is a good news, bad news situation for the Raiders.

The good news is that you just found yourself a pretty athletic guard.

The bad news is you are paying him like a QB that was once drafted #1 overall.

The year before a lot of the Raiders coaches wanted Matt Leinart but Al Davis overruled and drafted Mike Huff. Now I know Leinart hasn't torn up the league but had they drafted him there would have been no way they took Nate Newton...errr JaMarcus Russell the next year.

So what would you rather have?
Michael Huff and JaMarcus Russell
Matt Leinart and Calvin Johnson

Man, if Madden was still offering the six-legged turkey there's no way the Raiders would be able to keep Russell off the field.

LOL, maybe I should clear something up, since some of you are in shock...IT'S FAKE!!! AKA a joke.

It was a terrible pick then, and its a terrible pick now.

Shows how fortunate we are to have found our franchise QB.

I agree. Jamarcus is a joke. He seriously set them back another 5 years easily. If that's even possible.

The word was that nobody here was in love with Matt Leinart. They liked his aura being the SC hotshot QB, but felt his arm left a little to be desired.

As the draft grew nearer it became apparent that the Raiders were Vince Young or bust at QB. Some of the guys that I talk to around that organization were hoping to develop Andrew Walter as the QB, but that hasn't happened.

I guess Huff eventually became a need pick and the rest is history. Thing is that everyone keeps missing the Raiders do have the potential of having a deadly combination at RB and might not rely so much on Russell being the guy.

You mean the guy who cant win any important games, and is doesnt care about the game?

The guy that posters have suggested he has one more year to show what he's got or its time to move on?

That guy?

I agree, we are very fortunate.

Didnt this guy come into the league out of shape?

No surprise that he got paid and is going the Buster Douglas route.
It's way too early to be calling him a bust. Put me in the minority, but I think the kid is going to be really good. He really showed me something at the end of last year.

Can you say "late round fantasy sleeper"? :)

I believe a QB cant be labeled as a "Franchise QB" until he does something to warrant the title... Ala win a playoff game or a high draft position within a 2 year proving window.

Jokes aside, the Raiders will be very glad they signed Jeff Garcia when it is all said and done.

Jeff Garcia is probably three times the better player too. Geez that guy is one fat tub of lard :laugh2:
