Shrinks in games against better teams, which Notre Dame isn't. Similar to Aaron Brooks, he makes critical mistakes at the wrong times. He OFTEN floats passes deep, when a little zip is needed to lead the receiver, as was shown with the first pass. Many, many times LSU receivers have had to stop and wait for the ball to come down to catch it, and get tackled this season instead of going for TDs. And some of the decisions he has made at times in crucial moments made me cringe.
Even with that, he has all the tools to be a good QB at the next level. But he has to go to a team with a coach and staff that will teach him, and be patient with him. He's a huge guy, with a ridiculously strong arm, so inherently he has some advantages, but that's not all it takes to win games. I think mentally he has to get the game down a little more, get a better idea of which type of pass fits situations downfield, and have a better understanding of when to take a sack or throw the ball away, and not think cause he is so big he can break any tackle and make a play. He also has to take better care of the ball, fumbles are an issue too. If was a team with that could afford to let him sit and do spot duty for at least a season or so, i'd take him high, cause he has big upside. But i'll just say as an LSU fan, I hope he goes pro. I am tired of seeing crucial mistakes against good teams, and total domination of scrubs. It's frustrating.
