Jameis Winston

I will say it again. I dont want a new QB of any degree until our coaching staff is completely thrown out

Well, all except for Richard at this point, but I agree. We can't get a new QB until they're gone. They'll only destroy the new QB. It's why I say give Dak a season under a new coach and then get Tua.

If your scouts come to you and all say a guy could be a 12-15 year starting QB for your team, you have to take them no matter the coaching staff.

You don't know how long it will be before you're in the position to get that QB again.

I was thinking that too. But what if the Raiders look bad all season, and that horrible offense is blamed on Carr? Then Gruden makes it known he wants to move off Carr. His value may go down. He'll be 28 to start next season. Age shouldn't be a factor though, Kirk Cousins got that huge contract and started season 1 of the contract at age 30.

What other teams are in need of a Franchise QB? A lot of QB needy teams have invested high picks the last few years on guys they see as their future.

Giants
Buccs (if they move off Winston)
Jaguars

I don't see a lot of competition for Carr if he becomes available.
Put the Cowboys on that list. If Carr became available we better be in the running for him.

Broncos
Commanders
Patriots depending what Brady does in the off season

With Fitzpatrick doing well I think Tampa may consider trading Winston. What do you guys think if Dallas would trade for Winston? I personally think he would be a upgrade to Dak.
Did something happen? Was the Tampa GM hit in the head with a blunt object? Does Fitzpatrick have compromising pictures of him? What makes you think they would trade Winston because they have Fitzpatrick?

How long do you really take Fitzpatrick to be horrible again. He had 3 ints last week, so it may have already started

I think he'll have games like this, but I do think the offense fits perfectly for Fitzpatrick's skillset. Big Mike Evans and OJ Howard with a speedy Jackson.

Even with the 3 INTs (1 being a tipped ball, the other miscommunication), he nearly won them that game as well. With Winston, I just don't think he has it mentally to do this - but then again, I think he's quite terrible even though his raw stats from 2017 look okay.

Winston to me was always guy that had the tangibles to be great but the intangibles to wash out. I just think back to that game we had againt them a couple years ago where he had a really dumb and critical penalty. Thats Winston to me. Just not something you want from a QB.

He might be like Jeff George, where he is a guy that could put up decent to good stats on pure talent alone, but will always be a loser. Thats probably his ceiling

Personally no besides even if he’d come in we don’t have the receivers to go with that arm lol, maybe just maybe only Tavon.

Funny Fitzpatrick is all the rave right now. I would bet dollars to doughnuts if someone made a thread to bring in Fitzpatrick last year the majority of posts would say something like “no, he sucks”.

Ever since I have been on message boards the overwhelming majority of posts pertaining to acquiring a potential QB who is have been met with majority opposition.

You can make a case any available QB sucks and most do. Then if said QB shoes something then the tune changes to “we should have picked him up.”

Winston, despite his issues, would be a huge improvement over Dak. If we could get him at a reasonable price we should jump at the opportunity.

Three years ago he had a pretty damn good season, after years of average play. Remember the talks of "should the Jets give him a multi-year extension"? They did the smart thing (Jets, go figure) and gave him a one year "show me" deal and he stunk it up. He's gone from completely mediocre his first 7 years as a starter, to a hot/cold-type QB his last four. And it's only three games, history says he falls back down to earth before the season ends, if he isn't benched at some point. I like him, he's entertaining and authentic. He's an elite backup on a contender. A guy that if your franchise QB goes down, you don't have to wince if Fitzpatrick has to start a game or two. He gives that team a shot in a pinch.

But he isn't anything close to a franchise QB, nothing of the sort. Despite his 2015 season, and his weird stat anomaly (3x400yds) to start the year (along with some gaudy numbers, thus far), he's just not good for sustained amounts of time, ie consistent. And he's old. He's Nick Foles Sr.

no lol , just from what i read....I'm the first one hoping there is because we NEED one.
Ok. Listen Wentz was a second round pick about this time before the draft in 2016. Mayfield was not even talked about going in the first round let alone the top pick. Watch the quarterbacks in college. We are drafting one early unless Dak gets better.

I'm thinking he wasn't even that well regarded a couple games in.

He does suck. Aside from some anomalies, Fitzy isn't very good.

OK, listen up, Heathie. If Dak doesn't improve, we definitely need to bring in someone else. However, Winston is not the guy to take you there. If Dak is a 3 on a scale of 1-10, Winston is a 3.5. Bringing in someone who will cost you draft picks for a tiny improvement would be extremely foolish.

Arm? You know this WR corps in TB that Fitzy is blowing it up w/? These guys were all here last season. Winston couldn't utilize them. Winston has a strong arm, not a talented one.

This started last year already. The same team Winston was 3-10 w, Fitzy was 2-1 w/. TB's O is loaded, it does Winston little good.
