I might trade up for him in the second, or take him early in a slight trade back. I've seen him his whole career, but after studying him more he is exactly what this team needs.

I want Vea, Ro Smith, etc but this guy is amazing. I'm wavering here......best deep ball WR I've seen in a while. And he's built. Runs away from everyone as well.

He could help a lot.

I like him alot.
would love to get him in the 2nd IF we dont get Ridley at 19...you from Oklahoma?

cool...Im an Ou guy...glad Washington is gone.
like his physicalness...good hands.
built like a RB.
after the combine,I wonder if he'll sneak into Rd 1.
Ha, I'm glad Washington is gone too. He always seemed to be open against OU. And when you watch his highlights, he was always open against everyone. He's a very good deep ball threat.

He's not worth the 19th pick and will get taken long before the 50th pick.
He's basically in no man's land for the Cowboys.

I wish just 1 time Dallas would trade back and load up on 2nd and 3rd rounders.

Nothing against Taco Charlton but had we traded back and loaded up on picks we could've got so many solid prospects.

Imagine if we would've landed Kupp or Smith Schuester.. We liked both but needed DBs and pigeon holed ourselves.

Not that this team will take advantage of it, but there appears to be quite a few deep threats in this draft. It’s been a long time since we had one.

It’s not that many. Washington, Chark(maybe) Kirk (maybe), and Cain.

Who was left in the draft at 28 last year that some team would send you "a load" of draft picks to move up and get?

Let’s see how he works out. I’ve read he gets separation down field, but struggles to separate on short and intermediate routes, but I haven’t seen. I wouldn’t trade up, though. I’d be happy with him or the SMU kid at #19. I’m also good with DE, DT, or CB at 19.

  • It might be because he wears a running back’s number (28) that James Washington looks like one.
  • Physically he’s built that way at 5-11, 210.
  • His ability to go get the ball is unmatched.
  • He’s a big time player that is a finisher.
  • What makes him different from other receivers in this draft is his route running.
  • You see the separation down the field but you don’t always see it coming off the ball.
  • He did show some encouraging signs during Senior Bowl practices but it will be an area that scouts across the country will be digging in on during this draft process.

Kupp and Schuster on Dallas aren't the same players as Kupp on the rams or Schuster on the steelers

Not a fan of Washington. Folks like to criticize Sutton and SMU's passing scheme, but OSU is no different. They run a spread offense that spaces the secondary and provides their reciever a free release off the line alot. Washington effectively runs a couple of routes: a "9" or go-route and a deep slant/post.

I don't see him being a dynamic reciever at the next level. Im also predicting he doesn't time all that well at the combine. While not the same exact physical dimensions, I see Washington as a very similar reciever to what Terrance Williams was coming out of Baylor. I think his skill set would be better suited for a team like Green Bay and not our offense.

If I'm going to take a raw talent to try to develop, I'm looking at Courtland Sutton as he gives you physical tools and ball skills to develop into a possible #1 WR.

Agreed. I like Sutton too.

I like what I see in Sutton. I just wish he was faster down the field. I believe speed is one of the biggest things missing in our current wide receiver corp.

I like Washington but just not in the 1st. I know the route tree is limited, but reports were pretty good about him having a solid senior bowl week creating seperation and displaying good hands. I'm not sure what he'll run, but the dude obviously has game speed and he's a finisher.

I've been big on Sutton since the get go, as I think he might have the highest ceiling for WRs in the draft, but his timed speed will be what everyone's watching. Originally I was thinking he was a top 15 pick but after hearing about a concern in his speed he might be more of a bottom of the 1st early 2nd guy.

Both the packers and Seahawks traded back immediately after us. And no, it wasn’t for a “load” but both got solid returns for shifting a few spots
