James Washington?

Any one hear anything about James Washington's injury status? I haven't heard or seen a word about it since he went down.
Is he going to be back or is he an IR candidate?

Rumor is he'll be on IR and out at least four weeks.

Some media have speculating that he will on the initial roster then IR designated to return

Not sure how accurate this is, but I thought I read that a realistic timeframe isn't for him to be back before midseason

It was reported it was a 6 to 10 week injury.

Its a moot point now. We saw what the offense looked like with a bad line and Cooper instead of Washington. Not very good.

A mid-season return with time to get acclimated o_O I would opt for an injury settlement, then try to resign if I felt the need.

I'm wondering why these knuckle heads signed him to a guaranteed contract? And if those guarantees only kick in if he's on the roster week one. He's not better than Smith or Fehoko, so I'd rather just cut him at this point.

I can't see exposing one of our younger guys to try and get Washington to IR designated to return. I don't think he has much value when healthy, so when injured it's kind of like a "who cares" for me...

They really wouldn't, they will release Maher & McQuaide and possibly any other vet on a 1 yr deal that they can re-sign the next day. Veterans don't pass through waivers, they are free agents.

He didn't look good in camp prior to the injury.

We don’t know those 2 are better.
None have caught a pass or had any meaningful NFL snaps.
Washington has.

Yeah, but we already need those spots for the important guys like Gallup and Tyron. Washington is an injured JAG
