James Washington?

Yeah, but we already need those spots for the important guys like Gallup and Tyron. Washington is an injured JAG
Gallup isn't going on PUP and if he did they don't have to keep him on the 53 to do it. PUP rules are different than IR rules.

NFI rules are similar to PUP rules. Clark will be put on NFI and there is no need to put him on the 53.

Yes, my bad Gallup PUP vs IR. But actually he is already on the PUP and I think he stays there because he isn't playing the first month. But, the point is we will have guys we need on the team that we will use those spots to move other guys to IR already and that Washington isn't worthy is the most important one and really the one that matters. We have to see how Joseph is with his concussion and how Mukuamu is. Waletzko may still have an issue or be a short term stash guy while he gets more reps. McKeon may have an issue. Tyron is an issue. Plus whoever may get hurt in the next couple of weeks. Let Washington go and worry about him in a month or two if needed. We "possibly" could have used him while Gallup was out. We won't likely need him once he is ready to return. Plus you can never tell if a team desperate for a LS offers McQuaide something. Then you are screwed. Maher...who cares...

We don’t know those 2 are better.
None have caught a pass or had any meaningful NFL snaps.
Washington has.
His production versus injuries during his career speaks volumes. And as a second round pick, he's had his chances. Think about it, Washington just signed a contract that's has the same pay rate as Noah Brown. Why...because he's not that good.

The way Phillips worded this it sounds like PUP/NFI will still need to be on the 53 for a day. That's not how the rules were explained in past seasons though.

No, I'm pretty sure since Clark (and Gallup) on PUP they can stay there without being on active roster for a day

He is a decent WR, had some bad luck in Pittsburgh with an oft injured Ben trying to get the ball to. Him. Even Antonio Brown was not the same.
I am not saying Washington is the solution, but if used right, he can help. We have no idea about the others than a few PS games. Yes they looked good, but it was PS.

Contract doesn’t matter. Maybe he and his agent wanted a lesser contract as to the length.

yes they can stay on those lists, they don’t need to be on the 53.
Clark is on NFI though, but works the same as PUP.

Some media have speculating that he will on the initial roster then IR designated to return

Designated to return means short term IR, right ?
That would mean he has to be out at least 8 games if he's IR designated/short term IR ?

i want to see what others like Simi and Tolbert can develop and contribute.
In between we'll know ..or won't know if two 2 can be successful and we can be placed in a position to not need James Washington and
can permanently IR him ?

if Simi can be similar to what Cedrick Wilson did for us last year, i'm not even gonna fret about Washington Not returning.

Short term IR is only 4 games this year, the same for NFi/PUP.

Any one hear anything about James Washington's injury status? I haven't heard or seen a word about it since he went down.
Is he going to be back or is he an IR candidate?

Probably start the season on IR, but i would much rather roll with the young guys on the team like Houston, Tolbert, and now even Turpin. Gallup may be back even sooner than Washington anyway. Not worried one way or the other.

Him and Tyron will be back in December in time for the playoffs.
