Jane Slater: The three names I keep hearing to the Cowboys in round 1

I
Nolan is the best interior pass rusher in the draft and it’s not close. We need a inside rush to go along with Micah, Osa, and Fowler.

Pearce is probably the best pass rusher in the draft, yes over Carter.

Golden is the big play receiver the board has been begging for.

I also believe Jane gets false information to spread like in 2023.
I keep seeing people say that Carter is a headache to deal with. I hope he goes to the Giants with the other diva, Thibedaux

I like Nolan. But will his skillet translate? I think probably but not instantaneously.

Personally, I want someone bigger. But he'd be an improvement to the overall line.

You can likely play him at various spots on the d-line, especially on run downs.

:huh:Bigger 6’4 296 Once he gets into an NFL program he will be a solid 315lbs.

We've drafted one players from Ole Miss (Sam Williams) in the past 24 picks. He's the only player we've drafted from Ole Miss since 1995. We've drafted more players from Southern Miss in that time frame.
We had Drummond and now Mingo. Both receivers tho..

Pearce and Nolen are excellent prospects if you aren't concerned about the character questions. On the field, the guys are disruptive day 1

If you go with Pearce and you already have Parsons it's awesome for the pass rush, but it sure makes you light in the britches at run defense. Or where do they play Pearce? I can see Nolan though because I dont think you play 1 tech on that many downs anyway. I don't know though man, I could be way off. I'd be happy with any of the three, but we definitely need a stud wr prospect to take that wr2 spot.

Im not that worried about Pearce's size tbh. I think he will be in the 260's buy his 2nd or 3rd year and he plays big

When you have as many needs as we do it's a crap shoot as too which direction we go. Bottom line is Jerry will do what Jerry wants to do. I suspect an offensive player first and then defense and then offense again. I see running back round 3 and round 7.

There are players with character concerns who have had great NFL careers and players who lived down to those concerns. It wouldn't bother me until there's reason for it to bother me.
Yeah I have zero faith in this team to handle character concerns of laziness.
That's the thing about Grant. Im assuming Tet and Warren are gone by 12. Grant has good character and his motor is insane for a 340 lb tub butt.
Yeah I’m a fan of Grant. I can’t gauge wheee he’s gonna gonna though. I’ve seen 1st and 2nd round which probably means first.

If watch the free agents moves hes made. What positions he addressed. I think that kind of tells you what he may do but you never know.

Nolen was the number 1 high school recruit ,his biggest mistake was going to A&M for the moolah,he was better off going to OSU or Geogia where they actually develop players

Nolen is a boom bust prospect I'd feel better about Harmon who led all defensive players in pressures, played up and down the line, and measured and tested great. His weaknesses are coachable.

Yes,
not always. Bob Lilly was not. Manster played sort of crazy but was not.
Lots of DL's played hard and were great without being crazy
Yes, you do find normal players who are excellent players, but you tend to see crazy types playing along the dl or olb. I grew up in ny with LT, he was completely nuts, but hall of fame player

Tet is the big favorite it seems from the Cowboys insiders. It strange that the local media scouts don’t think Golden is a top 20 pick but think Tet is top 6. The national media thinks differently. Archer picked Tet in the sports nation mock. He usually gets the Cowboys pick right as long as his player makes it to the pick.
