Yeah, imagine that's how it'd start, but it'd be nice to have 2 kicking options. Cuz it was crazy that Chris Jones had to hold for Heath when Heath was kicking. In this situation, Sato could lick if Zuerlein gets hurt.

How strong is his leg? If Zuerlein isn't healthy and they wanted to have Forbath as the accurate guy for short kicks, could Sato be the long distance weapon (like Maher was in stretches)?

So the front office didn’t respect him? Got it.
Or the kicker was so bad that even Garrett saw it as a problem.

And the very next day, Stephen said they would not be looking for kickers.

Then Maher cost us another game and they finally replaced him.

And what did we miss the playoffs by?

Garrett > Stephen Jones ....although both are trash "football men"

It would have been nice if the Cowboys showed this level of interest in the kicking position last offseason.
Would have been nice if the head coach would have cut him after his 3rd miss. Unfortunately because Garrett is a loser he enjoyed having a guy that could bang in 60 yarders when his offense stalled

Bet you if Mike wants to cut a kicker he’s gone.

You're assuming that the coach actually had control over who was on the 53 man roster. I'm not so sure that he did.

Chris Jones has two main jobs, punter and holder. After picking up the backup tight end, we don't need him as a holder. So if we can actually get a better punter, then he's out. The fact that Sato could also back up the kicker position improves his value, especially in case Zeurlein can't bounce back since Sato could then be the long-range option/kickoff kicker and Forbath the shorter-range kicker.

I'm for the competition even if Sato can't beat out Jones. Sign him up and let the best man win.

Exactly! That'd be wonderful to have.
