Jared Allen?

A name to keep in mind. Due $13.5 million from CHI this year, but CHI switching to 3-4 and paid big money to McPhee and Woodley to be OLBs. Hitch is that Allen's salary is guaranteed. But can't see them keeping a disgruntled 4-3 DE who would be a backup.

He and Witten might get into a fight. Lol There was a lot of jawing and finger pointing when Allen was in Minn and beat Dallas in the playoffs. Historically Allen has said how much he hates the Cowboys. Funny thing is he is from Dallas

Only kidding however Allen has made it know over the years he does not like the Cowboys. As for him coming here to Dallas on a 1 to 2 year deal great it would allow the Cowboys to draft a player and be able to rotate him with a vet player

Except he had nothing in the tank last season. What would change that this season?

I wasn't face palming Doomsday101, but Jared being from Dallas and hating the Cowboys. I just found that stupid.

But yeah, the thread gets an overall face palm.

True he played poorly then again the Bears defense in general played poorly. I only said a 1 or 2 year deal on a low price

You probably said the same about the McFadden thread a couple of days ago, but look how that worked out. I called that deal back on January 19th:

Now, I'm not advocating signing or trading for Jared Allen, and certainly not at $13.5M, but someone has to play DE for us. And he did have 11.5, 12, and 22 sacks in 2013, 2012, & 2011, respectively. I dont think we're going to find that at pick #27.

As would I. 2013 he had 11.5 sacks on the season. No doubt last season 5.5 but then Bears defense was an overall mess last season costing the HC and GM their jobs

Huge fan of Jared Allen, if he could come on a cheap deal he'd be a steal. 5-7 sacks from him would help out a lot...you're probably not gonna get that type of production from a rookie in the draft
